On April 6, Lomira baseball lost 24-10 to Kettle Moraine Lutheran in a high-scoring home opener.
Lomira (0-1) got a run scored by Kolton Wagoner in the first inning to make the score 2-1 in favor of KML (1-0) after one inning.
KML was ahead 10-1 in the third inning before the Lions got the bases loaded, which resulted in Lomira scoring three runs, making the score 10-4 after three innings.
The Chargers extended their lead to 14-4 in the fourth inning when the Lions got RBI singles from Jackson Bloohm and Cooper King to close the gap to 14-6 in the game.
Lomira was trailing 16-6 with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, but the Lions’ offense responded with three runs featuring a Wagoner RBI single and a Bloohm two-run RBI double to put the score at 16-9 after five innings.
KML added eight runs in the sixth inning during some April snow showers to give the Chargers the 24-10 victory after the Lions added a run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Lomira’s offense was led by Kolton Wagoner and Jackson Bloohm, collecting three hits apiece in the non-conference matchup.
Lomira baseball hosted Laconia on April 7 after print time. The Lions will travel to Laconia on April 9 and will host Oshkosh West on April 10, with the first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
