Lions’ Josie Christian named All-State

Posted

Lomira’s Josie Christian was named to the WBCA Division 4 All-State team as a sophomore to help lead the Lions to State for the first time since 1993, after being an honorable mention all-state as a freshman
Christian scored the third most points in the state with 749 points, and her scoring average of 25.8 points per game placed her in eighth in the state in that category.
Her 146 steals were the tenth most steals in the state, and the 70 made three-pointers placed her in the top 25 in that category in the state.
Christian was the top scorer in the Flyway Conference while leading the conference with 105 assists during the 2025-26 season.

“My sophomore year went very well because I definitely improved from last year, particularly in terms of my confidence and understanding of the game,” said Josie Christian. “I feel like I was able to help my team, and I think I have stepped up in my role, which is a good part in basketball because I am definitely proud of how my team competed and what we all accomplished throughout the year.”
“Being All-State means a lot to me because it is just another thing that I improved on from last year, but as a sophomore, it is so cool to be in that spot,” said Christian. “ But I also couldn’t have done it without my teammates and coach because they all try to push me every day so that I do my best, plus it just motivates me to keep improving every time I step on that basketball court.”
“My main goal this offseason is to keep getting better in my skills, but also to get faster, stronger, and more consistent with a lot of my skills,” said Christian. “I will be spending a lot of time in the gym this summer, and I will be working on my ball handling and shooting because I just want to come back next year as a better leader and a more competitive player.”
