LF Bioenergy and Christian Hill Dairy are partnering to turn manure into clean energy with a new Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facility set to be commissioned in Q4 2025. The project will capture methane emissions from dairy manure, convert them into pipeline-quality RNG, and help the farm meet greenhouse gas reduction and sustainability goals—while strengthening its role as a cornerstone of the Lomira community.
This innovative project represents the best of what can happen when forward-thinking farmers, renewable energy developers, and local partners work together. LF Bioenergy has a long-standing relationship with Christian Hill Dairy and understands the opportunities and challenges of the site, enabling faster decision-making and streamlined progress.
To bring the project to life, LF Bioenergy partnered with trusted local companies, including MSA (msa-ps.com), whose deep ties to town and county officials helped ensure a smooth permitting process, and JP Tanks (jptank.com), located just 10 miles from the dairy, whose proximity ensures quick response times and operational efficiency.
Christian Hill Dairy is more than a farm — it’s a cornerstone of the Lomira community. For over 100 years, the family-owned dairy has been known for its commitment to responsible farming, support of local initiatives, and dedication to providing high-quality dairy products. It has been a trusted neighbor, an employer, and a proud steward of the land for generations.
Once operational, the facility is expected to reduce emissions by 74,791 tons CO■e annually, equivalent to removing approximately 16,000 cars from the road each year per the EPA.gov emissions equivalence estimator. In addition to lowering greenhouse gases, the process will significantly reduce odor associated with manure storage and handling. The RNG produced will be injected into the local pipeline, providing clean energy for homes, businesses, and transportation.
