The Horicon varsity volleyball team opened the 2026 season with a busy week, going 4-1 through a home triangular Tuesday, Aug. 25, and a trip to Poynette on Friday, Aug. 28.

The Marshladies opened the season on their home court with a convincing 2-0 win over Milwaukee Juneau.
Horicon controlled the match from the start, rolling to a 25-3 first-set victory before closing out the match 25-10 in the second set.
The second match of the night put Horicon up against Mayville. The Cardinals took control early and handed the Marshladies their only loss of the week, 2-0. Mayville won the opening set 25-11 and finished the match with a 25-16 win in the second.
Horicon Goes 3-0 at Poynette
Horicon bounced back Friday with a strong showing at Poynette, sweeping all three of its matches.
The Marshladies opened against Pardeeville and came through in a close first set, 25-23, before pulling away for a 25-19 second-set victory and the 2-0 sweep.
Horicon followed with another 2-0 victory, this time over Westfield Area. Set scores were not available.
The Marshladies finished the day against host Poynette in one of their tightest matches of the week. Horicon edged the Pumas 25-23 in both sets to complete the 2-0 victory and a perfect 3-0 day.
The opening week leaves Horicon with a 4-1 overall record.
Horicon (4-1) played on September 1, traveling to Dodgeland after print time.
