The Horicon Marshmen Foundation (HMF) is pleased to announce its 2026 Board of Directors, reaffirming its ongoing mission to strengthen educational opportunities within the School District of Horicon. HMF works to bridge the gap between government funding and the evolving needs of students by providing scholarships, grants, and essential resources that enhance learning and support long-term student success.
The 2026 Board of Directors are Katie Schwartz (Superintendent, School District of Horicon), Lisa Bischoff (School Board Liaison), Rich Appel (Treasurer), Bridget Pufahl (Secretary), Jerry Traughber (President), Aaron Bischoff (Director), Dan Gibbs (Vice President), Jerry Voy (Director), Madison (Traughber) Hakola (Director), and Megan Krueger (Director).
HMF’s mission is rooted in the belief that strong schools build a strong community. By offering financial support for scholarships, grants, and capital improvements, the Foundation empowers the School District of Horicon to remain a leader in education. Community contributions, many of which are tax-deductible, directly enhance the educational experience for students while supporting the foundation’s long-term goals.
When schools are well-resourced, students and staff are better prepared for success. High-quality schools attract families and businesses, fueling economic growth and increasing local property values.
HMF actively collaborates with parents, educators, district leadership, and community members to identify needs and implement meaningful initiatives. These efforts ensure that every donation has an immediate and lasting impact on Horicon’s students.
Community members wishing to make a significant contribution may join HMF’s Elite Sponsorship Program. A donation of $500 or more includes benefits such as a personalized banner displayed at the school, complimentary passes to school events, social media recognition, and HMF-branded merchandise. Donations can be made through the Foundation’s website at fdlareafoundation.com/marshmen/.
