Horicon library director recognized for 30 years of service

Horicon city staff recognized Library Director Alex Harvancik for her roughly 30 years of service to the city during a Common Council meeting on March 24.
Mayor Josh Maas praised Harvancik’s contributions during the meeting.
“The highlight was getting a chance to thank and say goodbye to our outgoing and outstanding Library Director Alex Harvancik,” Maas said in a social media post. “She has given over three decades of public service to our City in the library and the Horicon PD. Thank you for all you’ve done for Horicon, Alex.”
Maas also welcomed Harvancik’s successor, Anna McCallum, a Horicon High School graduate who will serve as the city’s next library director.
“She will be amazing,” Maas said.
The meeting drew notable public attendance, according to Maas, who described it as “more public attendance than we’ve had in a long time.”
