The City of Horicon Common Council held its regular, monthly meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m.
Council Matters:
• The council approved an emergency medical service agreement between the City of Horicon and the Village of Kekoskee. The area Horicon will noe be responding to is five sections to the north of Mayville on the golf course end of the city.
• The council approved two motions for the Safety Building HVAC replacement project. The first was for engineering services by MSA for the project’s request for proposal (RFP). The second was for the RFP itself.
• The council approved change order no. 2, 2025 miscellaneous mill and overlay project. The change was a reduction from the projected cost by $30,530.
• Two certified survey maps for 406 and 408 Keno Circle and 418 and 420 Keno Circle were approved.
• The council made the decision to select La Crosse Sign Group for the Marshland Crossing entrance sign project. An entrance sign into the City of Horicon is being put on hold to remain within budget.
• The council accepted the donation of a new playground, benches, and lighting at River Bend Park from the Friends of Horicon Parks. It will be the biggest playground in the city.
• The council approved the hiring of two new EMS personnel.
• The Horicon Public Library reported they hope to have a new Library Director approved for hire at the March meeting, and they are hiring a Youth Services and Programming Librarian and part-time Library Assistant.
• The Horicon Fire Department reported they had a record 162 calls this past year.
The next council meeting is set for Tuesday, March 24.
