Firari Wins at 138 in Muskego

On Saturday, Jan. 10, the Horicon boys’ wrestling team traveled to North Fond Du Lac for the Dave Cohen Classic. The Marshmen got off to a hot start and took that momentum with them throughout the day. Led by senior Ethan Strieff, who took second at 190, another notable place finisher was junior Kayden Phillips, finishing fourth at 157.
The Horicon girls’ wrestling team traveled to Muskego for the Warrior Cup Girls’ Invitational. They wrestled tough all day against stiff competition. They were highlighted by senior Hailey Firari, who won the 138-pound bracket. Another notable finisher was sophomore LuRae Wenninger, placing fourth at 114.
On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Horicon hosted Palmyra-Eagle, Pardeeville and Montello for a conference quad.
They started out the night wrestling Palmyra-Eagle, where Horicon pulled off a close 33-24 victory.
Next, Horicon took on Pardeeville, where they fought hard but fell just short, 28-35.

Finally, Horicon finished the night against Montello, where they took care of business, 36-10.
Horicon is back in action this coming Thursday, Jan. 15, as they host Deerfield, Hustisford and Wayland Academy.
