City of Mayville Recognizes 2023 and 2024 Employees’ Years of Service

The City of Mayville Common Council held a regular, monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.
Employee Service Recognition Awards were presented to part-time and full-time individuals, during the meeting.

Discussion was held on old business regarding the allowance of 15 to 18-year-olds to have 24/7 access at the TAG Center with a legal guardian.

The Council moved to approve the policy as written depending upon attorney approval.
An amendment to the 2024 budget was made to reflect a reorganization in funds.
Appointments were made to the Plan Commission (Larry Liebenow), Police/Fire/EMS Commissions (Dennis Walston), and Utilities Commission (Mike Engel, Gene Frings, Rob Boelk, Ald. Michael Schmidt, Ald. Bob Smith, Ald. Ken Neumann, and Ald. Jesse Liebenow).
The Council approved the establishment of sewer rates to close on revenue bonds and prove 110% coverage of debt service, with the increase effective at the start of the new billing cycle this month.
The Council approved change order No. 1 for Well No. 4 with C.D. Smith, which is just closing out the project and reflects a decrease in cost.
The Council approved Ventrac quotes for the Parks Department capital improvement plan project for around $60,000 for equipment.
John Wild presented on the renovation of the Fireman’s Park grandstand that is a Mayville Cares project. The estimated cost of the project is around $250,000. The Council approved a motion to begin fundraising for this project.
The Council discussed the unauthorized installation of permanent stucture, a generator and LP tanks at the Clark Street water tower, on city property. They approved a motion to have the city administrator to get a lease agreement, which will be presented next month.
The next Common Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 10 at 7 p.m.
