Marvin George Franke


Marvin George Franke, age 88, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.  Marvin was born on July 31, 1935, to George and Adela (Giese) Franke in the Town of Herman. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1954. Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1955-1957. He was united in marriage to Darlene Muche on April 25, 1959, at Zum Kripplein Christi Lutheran Church.     Marvin worked for 45 years at Tab Products. He was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mayville where he also served as an usher and on many committees.     He loved bowling and playing sheepshead with great enthusiasm. For 58 years, he treasured his country home, where he loved spending time with his family and raising ducks and chickens. His children and grandchildren brought him immense pride, and he found joy in visiting the casino. A loyal supporter of the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks, he held season tickets for the Green Bay Packers for 60 years! He even witnessed the iconic Ice Bowl game at Lambeau in 1967.    Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; children, Cindy (Larry) Margelofsky, Scott Franke, and Robin (Shannon) Niccum; grandchildren, Lara Disney, Brock Margelofsky, Sarah O’Hearn, Matt Franke, Kassie Schultz, Alex Franke, Kayla Picha, Collin Niccum, and Kelcy Niccum; great-grandchildren, Kholten, Finn, Knox, Rye, Paisley, Payton, and Rowan; sisters-in-law, Karen Rediske, Sandra Muche and Diana Muche. Marvin is further survived by other relatives and friends.    Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.  Funeral services for Marvin will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville with Rev. Dr. Mark Cutler and Rev. Joshua Frazee officiating. Richard J. Skudlarczyk


Richard J. Skudlarczyk, 97, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024, at his home. He was born on January 18, 1927, in Milwaukee to Joseph and Helen (Zielinski) Skudlarczyk. Richard worked for many years at Johnson Control and then later at Mayville Metal Products. After retirement, he moved to Arkansas where he farmed for some years before returning to Wisconsin. He enjoyed construction, building four different homes during his life. He always looked forward to grilling and spending that time together with his family. Richard is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy; children, Germaine (Fred) Pidgeon, Raymond (Cynthia) Emmer, Brian (Kathy) Emmer, Paul (Tiffany) Emmer, Marirose Johnson, Kevin Emmer, Danyl Skudlarczyk, Christopher Emmer; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; four brothers; daughter, Eileen Klatt; son, Daniel Emmer; son, Dale Skudlarczyk; grandchildren, Brian Emmer, Gary Emmer, and Sandra Emmer. Paul Brian Sukowatey


Paul Brian Sukowatey, age 56 from South Byron, passed into eternal peace and the loving arms of his God and Savior in heaven on Sunday, June 16. Paul’s death was the tragic result of a motorcycle vs. deer accident. Paul was the youngest of six children born to Edward and Rosemary (nee Thurk) Sukowatey. Paul was born on May 6, 1968, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He grew up in South Byron and attended school and graduated from Oakfield. Paul continued his education at Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac, earning his degree in Industrial Engineering. He was employed at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. Paul enjoyed riding his motorcycles since he was a teenager. He loved riding anywhere, at any time with friends or on his own. Paul had a great love for animals and shared his home with his cat, Nala. Paul chose the blessing to donate his organs to be the gift of life to others. He was a free spirit and truly an individual that chose his own path in life and lived it to the fullest. Survivors include his siblings, Jim and Linda Sukowatey of Brownsville, Mike and Julie Sukowatey of Brownsville, Jim and Kathy (Sukowatey) Dins of Clintonville, Carol (Sukowatey) Lamb of Rockton, IL, and Robert Sukowatey of South Byron; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Rosemary Sukowatey; an infant baby brother; beloved aunts anduncles and cousins. A celebration of Paul’s life will take place at the Brownsville Community Center at 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024, with Rev. Nathaniel Miniatt presiding. A visitation will take place from 2-4 p.m. at the Brownsville Community Center. Inurnment will take place at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Byron. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude and thank you to all the emergency response teams, law enforcement, fire departments, Theda Clark Regional Medical Center ICU staff and doctors for their care and comfort to Paul and all the family and friends. We also commend the UW Organ and Tissue Donation Organization for aiding the family to fulfill Paul’s wishes to donate his organs. Stanley B. Immel

Stanley B. Immel


Stanley B. Immel, 80, of the Town of Osceola, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at St. Agnes Hospital with his beloved family gathered around him. He was born on the family farmstead on Pine Road on November 8, 1943, the son of the late Marvin and Mabel (nee Meinke) Immel. On February 27, 1965, Stanley was united in marriage to Susan J. Baumhardt at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Campbellsport. Stanley farmed with his brother, Jerry, and worked at Regal Ware for seven years before buying his own farm. He also worked for Immel Construction for a number of years. He enjoyed deer hunting, pool shooting, horseshoes, snowmobiling (member of the Kettle Cruisers), going to the Hamburger Haus, and time spent at Glacier Valley Campground where they made many new friends. Stanley also enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Packers. Most of all Stanley loved the time spent with the grandchildren and taking them to McDonalds. Those left behind to cherish Stanley’s memory include his wife of 59 years, Susan; children, Timothy (Kiersten) Immel, Gary (Mike Bord) Immel, and Tammy (James) Kutz; daughter-in-law, Shirley; grandchildren, Cassidy Deanovich, Kayla and Alysa Kutz; step-grandchildren, Tanya Schwarz, Kimberly, and Ryan Galligan; siblings, Beverly (Donald) Backhaus, LeRoy Immel, Evelyn (Kenneth) Koepke, Richard (Theresa) Immel, Betty (Gerald) Gitter, and Rosemary Carey; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ruth Immel, Roger Baumhardt, Joan Baumhardt, Annette and Daniel Sabish, Pat Baumhardt, William Baumhardt, Richard Baumhardt, and Ronald and Debbie Baumhardt; many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his son, Scott; siblings, Jeanette, Marvin Jr, Jarold (Roberta), Judith (Carl) Kollmansberger, LaVerne Immel, and Dorothy (Robert) Meyer; brothers-in-law, Richard Carey III and David Baumhardt and sisters-in-law, Patsy Immel, Judith (William) Benson, Patricia (Robert) Wietor, and Diane Baumhardt. Visitation for Stanley will be Thursday, June 20, from 12 Noon until 3 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St., Campbellsport. A Funeral Service will be at 3 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, and burial will follow. Marvin Alfred Marohl


Marvin Alfred Marohl, 85, of Burnett, WI passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. Marvin was born September 22, 1938, to Alfred and Selma (Berndt) Marohl. He was born and raised in Burnett on his family farm. He graduated from Horicon High School in 1956. He volunteered with the Burnett Fire Department, was a member of the TT Riders Snowmobile Club, and a member of the Future Farmers of America. Marvin was united in marriage with Lucille Kahlhamer on October 29, 1960. Marvin was an active lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran church in North Burnett. Marvin farmed the family farm with his son. He loved working in the fields, milking the cows, and staying busy by tinkering in the shop building things and taking things apart to figure out how they were built. He also enjoyed his Sunday drives, spending time with family and his dogs, and polka dancing. Marvin is survived by his wife, Lucille Marohl; their four children, Lisa (Doug) Braun, Connie (Kevin) Burnett, Vicki (Dave) Kelly, and Mark Marohl; their three grandchildren, Jonathan (Stephanie) Braun, Alicia (Austin) Schultz, and Avery Kelly; six great-grandchildren, Dana Braun, Remington Braun, Ryan Braun, Hudson Schrader-Braun, Braelynn Schultz, and Blakely Schultz. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn Koontz; and brother-in-law, Jerry Koontz. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 21, at 1 p.m. at the Koepsell Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Timothy Sallach officiating.    Michael D. Braun, 64, of Beaver Dam passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.   Michael was born on February 4, 1960, in Beaver Dam to Dwayne and Carol (Rosenmeier) Braun.   He was employed with Mayville Tire Co. for 30 years until his retirement.Mike was married to Deborah Diels on July 30, 1988, in Beaver Dam.   Mike enjoyed being in the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, taking outdoor trips, or camping. He enjoyed watching racing especially Indy Car. Mike had a great sense of humor with a bit of sarcasm. He truly put family ahead of everything else. He loved his grandkids and being a grandpa was the job he loved best.   Mike is survived by his wife, Debbie, of Beaver Dam; his children, Ryan Braun (Amy Hoppenjan) of Neenah, JoAnne (Ryan) Callies of Beaver Dam and Brad (Erica) Howland of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren, Audrey, Braxton, Kasyn, Drake, Hunter, and Lydia; his mother, Carol Braun of Beaver Dam; siblings, Steve (Lisa) Braun of Indianapolis, IN, Susie Braun of Bloomington, IN, and Gary (Dana) Braun of Beaver Dam; brother-in-law, Jim (Bonnie) Diels of Beaver Dam; a special aunt, Henrietta Drake; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   He was preceded in death by his father, Dwayne; a sister in infancy, Jennifer; and his grandparents.   A memorial gathering was held at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 6 p.m.   Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is serving the family. Catherine Valeria Steger


Catherine Valeria Steger (nee Deanovich) passed away at her home on May 30, 2024, with family present. She was born in Mayville on May 20, 1924. Her parents were John and Mary (Levar) Dejanovich. When she was a young adult, she worked at Ben Franklin in Mayville. She married the love of her life, Vernon Steger, on May 25, 1946. She then moved to live with him on the Steger homestead in Theresa and remained there until her passing. She was an excellent cook. She was a hard worker, doing whatever she could to do the farmwork, housekeeping, and other chores. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic church. In later years, she and Vern enjoyed traveling with friends on various bus and train tours throughout the country. She also loved watching the Green Bay Packers, visiting the Amish, and playing cards. She loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Steger; her sons and daughters-in-law, Rick (Diane) Steger and Dave (Chris) Steger; her grandchildren, Monica Steger, Kari (Adam) Wik, Dan (Amanda) Steger, Andrea (Cody) Geschke, and Nick (Kendra Neuhauser) Steger; her great-grandchildren, Zack Wik, Emily, Hailey, and Natalie Steger, Amber Gable, and Bennett Geschke. Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; her in-laws, John and Viola Steger; siblings and in-laws, Anna (Matt) Persha, Frank (Frances) Dejanovich, Mary (Frank) Heider, Peter Dejanovich, Paul (Bernice) Deanovich, Michael (Ione) Deanovich, and Steven (Evelyn) Deanovich; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earl (Clara, then Jackie) Steger, and Elmer (Jeanette) Steger; and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial took place on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 1 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Ed Kornath presiding. A visitation took place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. Interment took place at St. Theresa Memorial Gardens in Theresa.
