This seems to be a question and a mystery that has been very difficult to solve.In the past, a few individuals have scanned through old newspapers to come up with a definitive answer. The answer seems to be 1895. As of late, two researchers at the Dodge County Pionier, Ann Guse, proofreader and historian, and Karen Rouse, editor, came up with the same conclusion – 1895. It helps when one (Guse) can read the German print in the old Pionier newspapers.

The Horicon Marshmen wrestling team hosted the Dodgeland Trojans on Thursday, Dec. 19, and even though Horicon won the dual 54-27, Dodgeland won five of the seven matches it competed in. ZACH COOK The Lomira boys basketball team improved its winning streak to four with a pair of conference wins last week.The Lions defeated North Fond du Lac on the road on December 10 by a score of 63-44. The team followed that up with another victory against Omro at home by a score of 66-63.
