POLICE BEAT OWI On November 20, the Mayville Police Department (MPD) stopped a 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage on Williams Street off North Main Street due to a passenger in the vehicle having an outstanding arrest warrant. The passenger was taken into custody on the valid warrant. During the stop the officer observed that the driver, a 29-year-old female from Mayville showed signs of impairment.

KAREN ROUSE An extension to the School District of Mayville mask mandate was issued on November 17, with the unanimous approval of the district’s Board of Eduction on November 16.A letter to families in the district stated that the masks are required to be worn in school buildings and on school grounds through January 29, 2021. The extension is in conjunction with the governor’s latest executive order urging Wisconsinites to continue precautionary safety measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mayville Public Library Returns To Curbside Service On Monday, Nov. 23, the Mayville Public Library adjusted its hours and services, returning to curbside service. Due to the increase in local COVID-19 cases, staff felt it a necessary action to ensure the safety of our patrons and staff. The building will be closed to the public until further notice.
