Memorial Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, February 20, 2021, 1 p.m., St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Winifred H. Martinez, age 82 of West Bend, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the Kathy Hospice. She was born January 15, 1939 in Kewaskum to Raymond and Frona (nee Garbisch) Justman. On February 28, 1957 she was united in marriage to Nick Martinez in Barton. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2017. Winnie worked at Regal Ware for 35 years. She loved spending time with her family having cookouts, celebrating birthdays and holidays. She also enjoyed going to rummage sales and shopping with her best friend, Suzie Otten. Winnie is survived by her nine children: Tom (Veronica) of Glendale, AZ, Jeff of Kewaskum, Cliff (Nami) of El Cajon, CA, Laura (Hector) Ovalle of West Bend, Calvin of Slinger, Michael of Fillmore, Barbara (Randy) Brockman of West Bend, Dennis of Green Bay and Denise (Brian) Roethle of West Bend; 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Gail Carlson of West Bend; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces nephews and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Frona Justman and her husband Nick Martinez. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Carlos Londono presiding. The family will greet visitors at the church from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Burial of the urn will take place in spring in St. Mary’s New Cemetery. Lutheran Church, Town of Wayne Diane Ruth Bartelt (nee Engeleiter), age 80, of Kohlsville, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum. She was born on April 16, 1940 in West Bend to the late Herman and Esther (nee Mayer) Engeleiter. Diane graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1957. She worked at B.C. Ziegler in West Bend until her marriage. On December 26, 1966 he was united in marriage to James Bartelt at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in the Town of Wayne. Together they farmed and raised a family. Following Jim’s retirement in 1987, Diane began working at West Bend Mutual until her retirement in 2004. Diane was a life member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, where she was a longtime member of the Ladies Aid and sang in the church choir. She was a former member of both the Kohlsville Sportsman's Club and the Kohlsville Kruisers Snowmobile Club. Diane never missed her grandchildren’s sporting and musical events. She was an avid gardener and took special pride in her strawberry patch. Diane is survived by her three children, Beth (Rick) Steiner of Hartford, Keith (Vicki) Bartelt of Kohlsville, and Kevin (Tera) Bartelt of Kohlsville; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Jenna), Erica, and Justin (Abigail) Steiner, Seth and Eli Bartelt, and Marguerite and Sophia Bartelt; two sisters, Mardell (Erwin) Rauh of Slinger and Naomi Engeleiter of West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Rohde of Platteville and Susan Engeleiter of St. Paul MN; a brother-in-law, Eugene (Ellen) Bartelt of Waukegan, IL; other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James; a brother, Gerald Engeleiter; and a brother-in-law, Duane Rohde. Funeral services in remembrance of Diane will be held on Tuesday, February 16, at 6 p.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Town of Wayne. Rev. Steve Bode will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Zion Church Cemetery. The funeral service will be livestreamed through Facebook. Patrick McKenna


Patrick J. McKenna, 55, formerly of Kewaskum, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at St. Louis Hospital, Tacurong City, Philippines. Pat and his twin brother Michael were born October 24, 1965 in Milwaukee. They were adopted by Roger and Audrey McKenna in 1965 and came to live in Kewaskum. Pat relocated to the Philippines several years ago. He wanted to live where he could be away from Wisconsin winters and “walk on the beach at Christmas”. He doted on his young son Prince, enjoyed cruising on his motorbike, and eating at his favorite restaurant, McDonald’s. Survivors include his wife, Airen; sons Prince Aron of the Philippines and Matthew of Sterling, IL; brothers Michael of Eastbourne, UK, Shawn of Milwaukee; and sister Bridget of Green Bay. Services in the Philippines are pending. A memorial will be held locally at a future date.
