MITCHELL BRADLEY KELLER “This is a true story,” said harness horseracer, Burnett native and now author, Amber Sawyer, in describing her illustrated children’s book Love To Race, which came out earlier this year.Sawyer’s emphasis on the word “true” resonated and, in a way, the word seemed to serve as a triggering reminder of just how incredible the story’s narrator was.

Hubbard Street has had a tough five years – dating back to a 2016 storm that destroyed its roof – as last month, a trio of Wisconsin Circuit Court District IV judges voted unanimously in favor of allowing the city to raze, or demolition, the building.

MITCHELL BRADLEY KELLER The unveiling of a nearly 100-year-old time capsule caught the attention of regional television news stations, as several camera crews were on-site at the Horicon campus last week Wednesday, Jan. 27, for the special event.School district superintendent Rich Appel, wearing white gloves to better handle the capsule’s delicate contents, gave a presentation of the findings to a small group of gathered media and members of the school board.
