Foreman, 75, of Mayville passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019. Carol was born the daughter of Clarence and Esther Schaumberg on December 8, 1943, in Hartford. She was currently employed at the Bethesda Thrift Store in Horicon. Carol had previously worked at Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation and Eagles Wing’s Care Center in Beaver Dam. She was member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville. Family was important to Carol and she loved the time spent with them especially her grand and great-grandchildren. She took great pride in taking care of her home and enjoyed making sure it stayed that way! Carol also enjoyed sports and watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Minnesota Vikings. Carol is survived by her daughters, Carey (Bob) Schneiter of Mayville, Chris (Mark) Margelofsky of LeRoy, and Connie (Duane) Wellner of West Bend. Her eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Elaine Kollmansberger of Mayville. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Tina Foreman. Visitation took place on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville. Visitation:  Monday, Aug. 26, 2 to 5 p.m.   Memorial Service:  Monday, Aug. 26, 5 p.m.  Place:  Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam Kim Mittelstadt On Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019, Kim Mittelstadt passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the age of 58.  Kim was born on August 2, 1961, to Lorenz “Larry” Mittelstadt and Judith “Judy” Braunschweig Mittelstadt of Fond du Lac. Upon graduation from Goodrich High School, Kim received his law enforcement certification at Fort McCoy.  After one year of service with the Theresa Police Department as Chief of Police, Kim transferred to join the Mayville Police Department where he had a very fulfilling career of 31 years serving the citizens of our local community as a police officer and law enforcement liaison to the Mayville High School. He retired from public service in 2013.  Kim was at home in the outdoors. An avid hunter and superb all around outdoorsman Kim shared his love for nature both in the field and around the grill, always with friends. He shared his knowledge generously and when the day was done regularly welcomed new faces at his table. Kim was unmistakably authentic and kind which is what drew so many to be around him. From the hunting blinds in Wisconsin to the islands of Belize, Kim’s time with us has created friendships that will live in our memories for so many more years than we were able to have him.  During his 17 year marriage to Kathleen Beck, Kim and Kathy raised three sons, Andrew, Daniel and Nicholas.  Kim is survived by his mother, Judy Mittelstadt of Fond du Lac; his three sons and their wives, Andrew and Katrina Mittelstadt of Evergreen, CO, Daniel and Justine Mittelstadt of Oconomowoc, and Nicholas and Maddie Mittelstadt of San Antonio, TX; his sister, Kay Mittelstadt-Lock and husband, Kurtis Lock; his brother, Karl Mittelstadt and wife Kristine Mittelstadt; two beautiful grandsons, Isaiah and William Mittelstadt, sons of Daniel and Justine Mittelstadt; and a large extended family and so many friends. Kim was preceded in death by his father, Larry Mittelstadt.  A memorial service honoring Kim’s life was held on Monday, Aug. 26, at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Visitation began at 2 p.m. Memorial service began at 5 p.m. with Peter Capoyianes officiating with reception to follow.  The Mittelstadt family kindly requests in lieu of flowers or gifts that memorials be made in the form of donations to be collected in support of local substance dependency organizations.  The Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam served the family. Hoffman, of LeRoy, 84, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. Neal was born the son of Norbert and Florence (Bauer) Hoffman on June 2, 1935, in LeRoy. He was a graduate of Mayville High School. Neal was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the 4th Army Rifle Team. He was united in marriage to Arlyne Dupre on October 10, 1957, at St. Joseph’s Church in Fond du Lac. Neal drove truck with his father for many years and finished his working years working for the Mayville Canning Factory. In his spare time, Neal was an avid outdoorsman and was a lifelong member of the Mayville Rifle Club. He was also a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. Neal is survived by his children, Therese (David) Combs of West Allis, David (Lisa) Hoffman of LeRoy, and Gary (Elizabeth) Hoffman of LeRoy; his grandchildren, Chelsea Combs; Katie (Jordan) Matthews and Robert Hoffman; Daniel, Erica, Douglas, and Jennifer Hoffman; his sisters, Sally (Warren) Duerbeck, Judy (Joe) Perrizo, and Jane (Joe) Kundinger; and his brother, Dale Hoffman. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Arlyne in 2010; his sister Georgene Schill in 2017; and a sister in infancy ‘Judith’. Visitation will take place on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the church. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 12 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Inurnment will take place at St. Andrew Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Andrew Restoration Fund or the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. Special thanks to the Hospice Home of Fond du Lac for their care and support shown to Neal and his family while he was there. Ardell was united in marriage to Leland Townsend on May 1, 1954 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fredonia.Ardell was previously employed as a laboratory worker for Fromm Laboratories, Inc. in Wisconsin and Rana Daycare in Tennessee, while after her retirement, she enjoyed spending more time with her family and church members. Ardell was a faithful member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville.Ardell is survived by her children, Kevin (Renee) Townsend and Beryl (Blaine) Tofte; her grandchildren, Stacy Townsend, Juliet Tofte, and Mark (Kaitlynn) Townsend; and great grandchildren, Grayson and Evalyn Townsend. Ardell is further survived by sisters Sylvia (Merlin) Gerner of West Bend and Verna Schallock of Cedarburg. Visitation: Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral Service: Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 9:30 a.m. Location: Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon Clarence James Treder, 78, of Juneau, passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, at his home. Clarence was born the son of Theodore and Lillian (Klapper) Treder on March 8, 1941, in Milwaukee. He was united in marriage with Christine Ann Jahns on June 2, 1962, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Fox Lake. Clarence was a devout Catholic; he was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon, where he was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 14478. Clarence was a jack-of-all-trades and through his work as a tile layer, he worked in buildings all over the area and the state. He was easy-going and always had a joke for everyone. Clarence was the first to volunteer when asked to do so and he loved to sell tickets for the various church and Knights of Columbus raffles. Clarence also loved to fish, but never out of a boat; instead he preferred his trusty cane pole along shore. Clarence is survived by his children, Julie (Chip) Brabbit of Sheldon, Michelle (Allen) Jaeger of Juneau, Jennifer Treder of Juneau, JoAnne (David) Link of Juneau, and Theodore (Patric Meyer) Treder of Kaukauna; three sisters, Ludgeria (Robert) Jonas of Randolph, Alice (Edward) Borkowski of Waupun, and Ruthanne (Matt) Mohr of Pembine; his brothers-in-law, Eugene "Pete" Jahns of Beaver Dam and Curtis (Nancy) Jahns of Juneau; 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Lorie Johannes; a grandson, Lukas Jaeger; his brother, Joseph Treder; his brother-in-law, Robert “Joe” Jahns; his twin sisters-in-law, Janet King and Janice Jozefowski; and his mother and father-in-law. A visitation was held on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon, and also on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at church from 9:30 am until 10:20 am. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Dennis Dirkx celebrating the Mass. Burial took place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Juneau. If desired, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the Knights of Columbus Council 14478 in Horicon. Stortz, 94, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at the Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau. Joseph was born on May 8, 1925, to Stephen and Katherine (Marlock) at their home in Mayville. Joe proudly served his country in WWII where he was stationed in the Pacific. He was united in marriage with Dorothy H. Heintz on January 25, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville. He retired from Maysteel after 47-½ years. Joe was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville. He was a member of the Mayville American Legion Post #69 for 73 years. Joe loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was a great gardener and had a gift for growing peppers. Joe loved to go to a good Friday fish fry and spend time with his friends and family. Survivors include his children, Dick (Linda) Stortz of Fond du Lac, Tom (Sally) Stortz of Janesville, Joy (Mike) Nieman of Beaver Dam, David (partner John Horachek) Stortz of Madison; two brothers, Stephen Jr. and John; eight grandchildren, Shawn Stortz, Timothy Stortz, Ryan (Kristen) Stortz, Sarah Stortz, Aaron Stortz, Adam (Kristi) Stortz, Stacia Nieman and Chad Nieman; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob Stortz, McKayla Stortz, Ajay Stortz, Jack Stortz, Otto Stortz, Davis Stortz, Ella Stortz, Dexter Ertel and Harvey Ertel and Joe’s close friend, Matt Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy, in 2011; infant son, Kenny, and two sisters, Betty Niedermair and Delores Tank. A visitation took place on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at the church at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. Burial took place at St. Mary’s Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69.
