Gregory R. Schmidt


   Gre­gory R. Schmidt, 53, passed away at his home in Hori­con on Sat­ur­day, Nov. 26, 2022.    Greg was born on Sep­tem­ber 5, 1969, to Dale and Helen (Schowal­ter) Schmidt in Beaver Dam.   He grad­u­ated from Hori­con High School. He also re­ceived his de­gree from Evan­gel Col­lege in Spring­field, MO, in psy­chol­ogy and Bib­li­cal Stud­ies. Greg was a mem­ber of Elm­brook Church in Brook­field, and at­tended Chris­t­ian Life Fel­low­ship.    Greg’s re­la­tion­ship with God was some­thing that has al­ways been im­por­tant to him. At Elm­brook Church, he was a very ac­tive mem­ber hold­ing youth and adult Bible stud­ies. Greg also had a love for the great out­doors. Some of his hob­bies in­cluded camp­ing, ca­noe­ing, hik­ing, bik­ing, and pho­tog­ra­phy. Greg’s pas­sion for help­ing peo­ple showed daily at Clearview where he was a CNA for many years.    Greg will be deeply missed by his mother, Helen; his sis­ter-in-law, Teresa (John) Eisen­menger; and many rel­a­tives and friends.   Greg was pre­ceded in death by his fa­ther and his brother, Michael.    A Cel­e­bra­tion of Life ser­vice for Greg took place on Sat­ur­day, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. at Chris­t­ian Life Fel­low­ship in Mayville, with Pas­tor Matt Lewandowski of­fi­ci­at­ing. Lisa A. Giese


   Lisa A. Giese, 56, of Mayville, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, at her home in Mayville.   Lisa was born the daughter of Frank and Barbara (Leibenow) Wolc on June 11, 1966.   Lisa graduated from Mayville High School in 1984.   She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville.   Lisa was previously employed at MEC and Kwik Trip.    Lisa cherished and loved her family. She held a special spot in her heart for her six grandchildren and her grandpets. Lisa was very social and enjoyed being outdoors.    Lisa is survived by her parents; her loving children, Ashley (Kevin Lentz) Giese, Michelle (Chris Wenzel) Giese, and Brandon Giese; her beautiful six grandchildren, Rylan, Aleigha, Alana, Landon, Carter, and Mya; her siblings, Tamra Wolc, Kim (Bill) Haraden, and Troy Wolc. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.    Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her brother, Scott.    A memorial service for Lisa will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville with Rev. Dr. Mark Cutler and Rev. Joshua Fraze officiating. Visitation for Lisa will be at the church from 10 to11 a.m. the time of the service. Marjorie Ann Junger


March 27, 1933 -No­vem­ber 23, 2022   Mar­jorie (Er­sk­ine) Junger passed away peace­fully at home on No­vem­ber 23, 2022, at the age of 89.   She was born on March 27, 1933, in Mil­wau­kee, the daugh­ter of Wal­ter and Mar­garet (Ahrens) Er­sk­ine.   She grad­u­ated from Bay View High School and went on to ob­tain her BA in Ed­u­ca­tion from Uni­ver­sity of Wis­con­sin - Mil­wau­kee. She was a mem­ber of Tri-Sigma Soror­ity.    On July 19, 1953, Marge mar­ried Eu­gene (Gene) Junger in Wash­ing­ton DC, where Gene served in the US Coast Guard. They lived a year-long hon­ey­moon, tak­ing in the sights, en­joy­ing mu­si­cal the­aters, and cel­e­brat­ing July 4th with fire­works on the White House Lawn, be­fore mov­ing back to the Mil­wau­kee area.   Marge taught sixth grade in the Mil­wau­kee Pub­lic School sys­tem. Dur­ing this time, their first child was born. The fam­ily moved to Cu­d­ahy, where she later gave birth to three other chil­dren. In 1966, they moved to Wauke­sha where they lived for over 30 years.   Marge was a long-time mem­ber of the Home­mak­ers Club of Singing Hills dur­ing this time. She was a Girl Scout leader at Bant­ing El­e­men­tary and was ac­tive in the PTA.   After her chil­dren began school, Marge was a sub­sti­tute teacher in the Wauke­sha Pub­lic Schools. She later went to work at The Grand at the Brook­field Square Mall and then be­came em­ployed for Kohl’s De­part­ment Stores. She worked at the sec­ond Kohl’s store to open, long be­fore they be­came a na­tional chain, and was a faith­ful em­ployee there for 24 years.    In 1997, Gene and Marge re­tired to Brownsville, where they spent many happy years to­gether. She was an ac­tive mem­ber of Trin­ity Methodist Church of Lomira. Marge en­joyed trav­el­ing, es­pe­cially to Jack­son­port in Door County, where she loved to visit rel­a­tives and rem­i­nisce about her sum­mers up there. She loved to crotchet - di­rect­ing the work to char­i­ta­ble causes, en­joyed craft­ing, and get­ting to­gether with fam­ily. She was an ac­tive com­mu­nity mem­ber of Brownsville for many years. Marge and Gene cel­e­brated their 69th an­niver­sary this past sum­mer.   Marge is sur­vived by her hus­band, Eu­gene; chil­dren, Richard (Pen­nie) Junger, Linda (Ned) Lash­ley, Bar­bara (Christo­pher) Keay, and Thomas (Kath­eryn) Junger; grand­chil­dren, Ben­jamin, Tyler, Emily, Jill, Jacob, An­gela, Trevor, Zachary, Casan­dra, Gre­gory, and Vi­vian; six great-grand­chil­dren; and her brother, Wal­ter (Geor­gianna) Er­sk­ine.   She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents.    In lieu of flow­ers, the fam­ily wishes memo­ri­als be given to Trin­ity Methodist Church of Lomira.    VIS­I­TA­TION: Mar­jorie’s fam­ily will greet rel­a­tives and friends on Sat­ur­day, Dec.10, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Trin­ity United Methodist Church of Lomira, 300 Church Street, Lomira, WI, 53048.   MEMO­R­IAL SER­VICE: A Memo­r­ial Ser­vice for Mar­jorie will take place at 1 p.m. at Trin­ity United Methodist Church of Lomira, with Rev­erend Mu­longo Mpoyo of­fi­ci­at­ing. Evelyn Lorraine Krug


   Eve­lyn Lor­raine Krug (nee Ehrhardt), 87, passed away peace­fully on No­vem­ber 22, 2022.   Eve­lyn was born on July 13, 1935, in the Town of Lomira to Mau­rice and Lav­ila Ehrhardt.   She was united in mar­riage to Don­ald Krug on Au­gust 16, 1958, at Emanuel Church, and to­gether they raised two chil­dren. Don­ald passed away on Feb­ru­ary 12, 1992.   Eve­lyn grad­u­ated from Lomira High School in 1953. She at­tended Dodge County Nor­mal School and earned a de­gree in ed­u­ca­tion. She started her ca­reer teach­ing in a one-room school­house be­fore tak­ing a break from ed­u­ca­tion to be a farmwife. Later, she spent 18 years as a para­pro­fes­sional (teacher’s aide) in the Lomira School Dis­trict.   Eve­lyn had a strong faith and was a long­time and in­volved mem­ber of Trin­ity United Methodist Church in Lomira. She was a tal­ented mu­si­cian, in­clud­ing singing alto for many years with the church choir and ear­lier in a trio with three Ehrhardt Sis­ters. She also played the sax­o­phone and ac­cor­dion. Eve­lyn had a pas­sion for pho­tog­ra­phy and travel, and she loved to com­bine the two. She en­joyed de­vot­ing time to local youth, and she was a 4-H leader of the Lomira Clover Leaves Club for nearly 50 years.   Eve­lyn loved her fam­ily dearly, and those she leaves be­hind to cher­ish her mem­ory in­clude her two chil­dren, Lori (Tim) Colleran and Steve Krug; four grand­chil­dren, Kel­lie (Bill) Jacob, Daniel Krug, Anna Krug, and Emilee (Jeff) Simon; six great-grand­chil­dren, Aiden Krug, Brady Jacob, Gra­ham Hocher, Allie Jacob, Brynn Jacob, and Ada­line Simon; sis­ters, Lois Hartwig and Lynette (George) Sher­man and brother, Robert (Janet) Ehrhardt. She is fur­ther sur­vived by nieces, nephews, other rel­a­tives, and friends.    In ad­di­tion to her par­ents and her hus­band, Don­ald; Eve­lyn was pre­ceded in death by her step­mother, LaV­erne Ehrhardt; brother, Ronald Ehrhardt; sis­ter, Carol Dall­man; and broth­ers-in-law, Arlen Hartwig and Mark Dall­man.   A Cel­e­bra­tion of Eve­lyn’s life will be held at a fu­ture date in the spring or sum­mer of 2023.   In lieu of flow­ers, con­tri­bu­tions in Eve­lyn’s mem­ory may be di­rected to Trin­ity United Methodist Church in Lomira.   The fam­ily would like to thank the doc­tors, nurses, and staff at Hope Se­nior Liv­ing / Hope Health and Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion in Lomira and at St. Croix Hos­pice for their care and com­pas­sion.   Myrhum-Pat­ten Fu­neral & Cre­ma­tion Ser­vice has been en­trusted with Eve­lyn’s arrange­ments.    Tra­cie Jane Adelmeyer, 33, passed away on Sun­day, Nov. 20, 2022.   She was born on April 12, 1989, to Mark and Dar­lene Adelmeyer in Fond du Lac.    Tra­cie grad­u­ated from Waupun High School in 2010 and since high school has been going to the Green Val­ley En­ter­prises SNAP pro­gram.   Tra­cie will be re­mem­bered by her joy­ful and free-spir­ited na­ture. Her joy­ous and some­times mis­chie­vous smile, sense of humor, sur­pris­ing sass and sweet gig­gle cap­ti­vated all those who knew her. Tra­cie would ask Mom to make her “hair pretty” every morn­ing, leav­ing the house with a bounce in her step on the way to the bus. She could often be found car­ry­ing her fa­vorite books and stuffed an­i­mals along on her many ad­ven­tures. These in­cluded camp­ing, hik­ing, bik­ing, and swim­ming with fam­ily, and car rides to “nowhere” with Dad. She loved hang­ing out and spend­ing time with her brother and sis­ters, par­tic­u­larly swing­ing and sit­ting on the porch. She was mes­mer­ized by and loved ba­bies and chil­dren, es­pe­cially her nieces and nephews. Susan K. Milton


   Susan K. Milton, 74, previously of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at her home in Grafton.   Susan was born the daughter of Dr. Oliver and Hazel (Weiss) Herman on October 16, 1948.   Susan married Patrick Milton on December 26, 1970, in Allenton. They were married for 35 years.Susan attended UW-Whitewater, where she received her bachelor’s degree in teaching.   She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was also treasurer.    Susan was a devoted mother, wife, and partner. She loved traveling and spending time with loved ones. Susan enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, birdwatching, and flowers and was a member of the Nature Conservatory. She was an educator and loved teaching her students, many whom she still has active friendships with today. Although she is survived by her family, her extensive friendships span from California through Wisconsin and as far away as Mexico and Turkey. Susan was a truly amazing woman. Susan will follow the path the Lord God has set for her in eternity and is joined with loved ones we have already paid tribute to. We await the opportunity to join hands with her in the future.   Susan is survived by her children, Matt (Katie) Milton; Ryan Milton; Allison Milton (Troy Wheeler); grandchildren, Emma Milton, Grace Milton, Porter Milton, Olivia Milton, and Frances Milton; and her loving partner of 15 years, Tony Weasler; and the Weasler family (Children, Grandchildren, and Spouses).    Susan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Patrick; and her sister, Patty Herman.   A celebration of life service for Susan began on Friday, Nov. 25, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville with Rev Fr.    Del­mar G. Kohl, 90, of Beaver Dam passed away on Sun­day, Nov. 20, 2022, at Beaver Dam Mem­ory Care.   A vis­i­ta­tion for Del was held at the Koepsell-Mur­ray Fu­neral Home in Beaver Dam on Fri­day, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A fu­neral began at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jesse Gul­lion of­fi­ci­at­ing. Grave­side mil­i­tary rites con­ducted by the Beaver Dam Amer­i­can Le­gion Post #146 fol­lowed at the fu­neral home. In­ter­ment was at High­land Mem­ory Gar­dens in the town of Tren­ton, Wis­con­sin.   Del­mar George was born on April 15, 1932, the son of George and Gertrude (Kennedy) Kohl in Beaver Dam.   On Sep­tem­ber 12, 1959, he was united in mar­riage with Shirley Borchert at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Colum­bus.   Del served his coun­try in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He had been em­ployed as a welder in the ex­per­i­men­tal shop at John Deere Hori­con Works for over 29 years, re­tir­ing in 1992. He was a mem­ber of Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. He was also a mem­ber of the Beaver Dam Amer­i­can Le­gion Post #146. Del was ac­tive in the com­mu­nity and very much en­joyed vol­un­teer­ing at the Beaver Dam Hos­pi­tal, Syl­van Cross­ings, the Bethesda Fair and Meal on Wheels.    Del will be deeply missed by his son, Tim Kohl of Beaver Dam and his daugh­ter, Deleen (Tyler) Nehls of Kenosha; grand­chil­dren, Tatum Nehls and Austin Nehls; and his spe­cial friend, Carol Tay­lor of Beaver Dam. Geraldine “Geri” Zirbel

Geraldine “Geri” Zirbel


   Surrounded by loved ones, the Lord extended His hand to Geraldine “Geri” Zirbel on November 14, 2022, when she peacefully entered her eternal home.    Geri was born on December 1, 1936, to Ernst and Hilda (nee Schwartz) Schneiter in the Town of Knowles. She grew up in Leroy and shared fond memories of climbing trees, reading books and playing with the neighborhood kids.    She met the love of her life, William ‘Willie’ J. Zirbel, in 1953, at Zivko’s Ballroom in nearby Hartford. They were married on June 18, 1955, at Zion Lutheran Church in the Town of Theresa and continued to waltz and polka throughout their 65-year marriage.   Geri was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church, Browns Corners, serving on multiple committees, including the quilting circle where the group made quilts for both international charities and local homeless shelters. She coupled this with her love of rummaging, always on the lookout for sheets and blankets which she meticulously washed to be repurposed for much-needed comfort.    Geri also brought comfort through her delicious desserts. She tediously made from scratch butterhorns, birthday cakes and dozens of various batches of Christmas cookies during the holidays. She was best known for her schaum torte, which delighted family, friends and church luncheon attendees.   She was an avid gardener and devoted much time to her beautiful perennial gardens. Her green thumb meant that plants often needed to be ‘thinned’ and she generously shared plants with family and friends. In this sense, a part of her will live on and bring joy for years to come.    Known for a strong work ethic, Geri worked at several companies and made lifelong friends along the way. This includes the furniture company, Rilling-Endlich, and Tab Products, from which she eventually retired.    Geri is survived by six children, Dennis (Laura) Zirbel; Debra (Roy) Hale; Cindy Zirbel Wrucke; Brian (Nancy) Zirbel; Mark (Susan) Zirbel; and Jodi (Douglas) Marose; 13 grandkids (Justin, Kelly, Brandon, Ben, Sarah, Nick, Megan, Ian, Erica, Tyler, Sawyer, Stephanie and Cassie); and 21 great grandkids (Ainsley, Willa, Hayden, Charli, Seth, Myles, Myka, Addison, Noah, Owen, Shea, Alex, Wiley, Aubrey, Brody, Claire, Quinn, Brynn, Thatcher, Blakeleigh and Watson). She is further survived by two sisters, Lillian Wondra and Georgia Schneiter; two brothers, James and Kenneth Schneiter; and one brother-in-law, Richard (Judith) Zirbel.    She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie; her parents; brothers, Maynard, Milford, Norman, Orville, Gerald, Jay; sister, Donna Mae; and infant grandson, Nathaniel.   Special thanks to Geri’s neighbors John and Sue Shoettel for their care and support.   A funeral service for Geraldine took place on Monday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Browns Corners with the Rev. Allen Behnke officiating. A visitation was held on Sunday, Nov. 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville and again on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Mathias ‘Matt’ Hoffman


   Math­ias ‘Matt’ Stand­ford Hoff­man, 104, passed away peace­fully on Tues­day, Nov. 8, 2022, at his home in Neda.   Matt was born the son of Anton and Anna (Kohler) Hoff­man on Oc­to­ber 2, 1918, in Ohio.   He was united in mar­riage to Eve­lyn Weg­in­ger on March 7, 1938. They shared 74 years of mar­riage be­fore her death in 2012. The cou­ple wel­comed seven chil­dren, Math­ias, Jr., Ger­ald, Pa­tri­cia, John, Bev­erly, Robert, and Tony. They lived in sev­eral places in Dodge County be­fore set­tling in Neda.   Matt was a mem­ber of the Rock River League Hall of Fame and an hon­orary mem­ber of the Mayville Amer­i­can Le­gion Post #69 be­cause he was spend­ing so much time there with his friends shoot­ing the breeze and hav­ing some re­fresh­ments. He loved play­ing sheepshead (every­one had to have as­signed seats) and en­joyed tak­ing gam­ing trips. Every­one that knew Matt cher­ished his smile and sense of humor. Matt was still in­de­pen­dent and drove his own ve­hi­cle up until a few months ago and con­tin­ued to live in­de­pen­dently in his own home until his death. Matt loved his wife deeply and when she was ad­mit­ted to a nurs­ing fa­cil­ity, he made sure to be there from early in the morn­ing until late in the evening, only tak­ing a short break for lunch.    Matt is sur­vived by his chil­dren, Matt Jr. of Brook­field, John (Beve) of Marke­san, and Bev­erly Wein­heimer of Beaver Dam; his daugh­ters-in-law, Taddy Hoff­man of Hori­con, Norita Hoff­man of Iron Moun­tain, and Bon­nie Hoff­man of Mon­tello; his many grand­chil­dren, great-grand­chil­dren, and great-great-grand­chil­dren; fur­ther sur­vived by other rel­a­tives and many friends.   He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; his wife, Eve­lyn; sons, Robert, Tony, and Gerry; daugh­ter, Pa­tri­cia (Jack) Griss­man; son-in-law, Chet Wein­heimer; his daugh­ter-in-law, Carol; his great-grand­daugh­ter, Casey Schwartz; great-grand­son, Cody Laufen­berg; grand­daugh­ters, Jes­sica and Nic­hole Griss­man; great-great-grand­sons, Oc­tavius and Earl Schwartz and David Echev­er­ria; and his grand­daugh­ter's hus­band, Mark Rantala.   A Mass of Chris­t­ian Bur­ial was held on Sat­ur­day, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. at Sa­cred Heart Parish in Hori­con with the Rev. Fr. Justin Lop­ina pre­sid­ing. Vis­i­ta­tion was held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church in Hori­con.    Alfred “Ole” Albertson Jr. of Neosho, passed away in the comfort of his home and the loving care of his family on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022.    Ole was born January 13, 1945, in Ashland, to parents Adele (nee Gervais) and Alfred Albertson Sr.   He was united in marriage to his first wife Mary Lou in 1967, until her passing in 1984. Alfred later met and married his beloved wife Linda (nee Otte) on June 29, 1985.   Ole was a man of the great outdoors and all that came with it, including staying active walking outside, canoeing trips, and of course hunting. As an avid hunter, his passion carried into his work as he owned and ran an archery supply shop. In Ole’s shop there was everything one needed for bow hunting, he even hand crafted their own arrows, cutting and adding in the feathers by hand. He was a great teacher, providing many lessons to kids on how to shoot so they could learn properly and safely. Over the years Ole was dedicated to working with many schools in the surrounding areas to implement archery programs and classes for students to take part in. Ole also worked proudly for John Deere for over 30 years, leading to his retirement.    Ole is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, of 37 years; loving children, Lisa (Steve) Michaels, Dakota Albertson (Carolann Calcote); cherished grandchildren, Steven (Alyssa) Michaels, Bradley (Ashlee) Michaels, Sahara (Josh) Trott, and Cody (Baylee) Panek; treasured great-grandchildren, Skylar, Walker, Ollie, Otto, Hunter, Ariel, Estella, and Roman; dear siblings, Bettie Pierce, Laina Finamore, Bob (Char) Albertson, Kris (Gary) Foss. Ole is further survived by his nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many other loved relatives and friends.    He was preceded in death by his parents; first parents-in-law, John and Geraldine Reynolds, parents-in-law, Lawrence and Marion Otte; his first wife, Mary Lou; and children, Alfred Albertson lll and Michelle “Shelly” Albertson.    Memorial services for Ole were held Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027) with Pastor Joshua Kesting saying prayers. Family greeted relatives and friends at the funeral home from 1 pm. to 2:50 p.m. A private inurnment took place at St. Bartholomeu Cemetery.   The Shimon Funeral Home served the family.
