Nancy Jane Glenn Marshall Jones went to her heavenly home Wednesday May 25, 2023.   She was born in West Bend, to the late Emmett and Lois DeBolt Glenn.   She spent many years in Wisconsin, where she graduated from Mayville High School, then The Scout Institute with a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics.   She had a variety of careers, including being one of the first policewomen hired for the Madison Wisconsin Police Department. She also taught school, but enjoyed law enforcement and went back into it, working for the NC Corrections Department, where she retired as an Assistant Superintendent for the Granville unit in Oxford, NC.   She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Suzanne King (Steven); one granddaughter, Katie; and her sister, Diane Glenn.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband(s), Kenneth L. Marshall and Joseph D. Jones; special friend, Arthur Schott; and her sister, Elinor Janet Glenn Saliminas.   A memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s life was held on June 4, at 3 p.m. for family, followed by visitation at 3:30 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, Greensboro, NC.   The family requests that memorial contributions be made in honor of Nancy to Christ United Methodist Church of Greensboro, Hospice of the Piedmont.   The family would like to express sincerest praise and gratitude to Amy Tolbert for the care and love provided to Nancy for more than two years.    Claude H. Rex, 92, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at his home in rural Horicon.   Claude Harvey Rex was born on April 11, 1931, in Beaver Dam, to the late Harvey and Jessie (Goodearle) Rex. He graduated from Horicon High School in 1949.   Claude served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955, as a rifle instructor. When he returned from the military, Claude began farming in the Town of Hubbard; he later passed that farm on to his two sons.   Claude had a love for farming. He was director for the Dodge County Farm Bureau and a founding member of the Dodge County Dairy Promotion Committee.   On September 8, 1957, Claude was united in marriage with Carol Radke; she preceded him in death in April of 2011. On July 28, 2012, he was united in marriage with Elaine Gunst.   He was a long-time member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Horicon.   In 2016, Claude was very proud to take part in the Honor Flight to Washington, DC, accompanied by his eldest grandson, Thomas. He enjoyed taking road trips, playing cards and sharing a beer.   Survivors include his wife, Elaine Rex of Horicon; three children, Cynthia (William) Peterson of Sussex, Curtis (Kay) Rex and Craig (Diann) Rex, both of Horicon; grandchildren, Chloe (Jesse) Gaines, Carly Peterson, Thomas (Ana) Rex, Theresa (Ryan) Kuhn, Andrew Rex, Robert (Anna) Rex, Maria (Peter) Boggeln, Matthew (Kayla) Rex, Melody Rex, Allison Rex, and Hamilton Rex; 13 great-grandchildren; his brother, Rodney Rex of Iron Ridge; four step-children, Noreen (Larry) Dogs, Curtis Gunst, Willis (Carla) Gunst, and Dennis (Nichole) Gunst; nine step-grandchildren, and ten step-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.   Claude was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Rex; a grandson, Alexander Rex; and two great-grandchildren, baby Kuhn and Collyns Joy Rex.   A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 12, at 1 p.m. at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Horicon, with Rev.    On June 3rd, 2023, John A. Steger passed away at Froedtert Hospital with his loving family by his side, at the age of 79.   John was born on February 9, 1944, in Beaver Dam, the son of Earl and Clara (Strasser) Steger.   He was married to the love of his life Ardis Schultz on July 14, 1962. They raised three children together: John, Christine and Wendy.   John was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lake Puckaway was his second home; life was complete when he was spending time with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends on the pontoon and making “Papa’s world-famous waffles”. He treasured the annual hunting trip in fall of the year with his son, son-in-law, grandsons, brother-in-laws, and special nephew, Chad. Arizona was a place the whole family enjoyed making countless memories. Always welcomed with open arms by our Arizona Kominska family.   John retired from Seneca Foods in 2005 and spent 19 years retired, creating a lifetime of memories with his family and loving wife. John would tell all he knew that “he was the richest man in the world!” Not because he had money, but because of the love of his family and all that knew him.    John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ardis Steger; son, John and Dawn Steger; daughter, Christine and David Churchill; daughter, Wendy and Cory Baker; grandchildren, Travis (Lauren) and Trent (Danielle) Steger, Samantha (Brad) Prinsen, Zachary, Alexander (Emily) and Madison Churchill., Riley and Georgia Baker.; great-grandchildren, Reese, Wrenly, Beckett, Boston and Bodhi Steger, and coming in 2023 two new great-grandbabies. He is further survived by brothers, Grant (Kelly) and Keith (Kristin) Steger, sisters, Deborah (Gary) Bortz and Sonja Cears; brothers-in-law, Allen (Marlis) Schultz, Robert (Shirley) Schultz; sister-in-law, Geraldine (Kent) Kominska; special niece, Trisha (Joe) Hanni and their children, Preston, Kennedy and Hudson, as well countless treasured nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.   John was preceded in death by his parents, Earl, Clara, and Jackie Steger; parents-in-law, Victor and Laverne Schultz; and brother, Earl Steger Jr.    A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for John took place on Tuesday, June 13, at 12 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa with Rev. Fr. Joe Dominic presiding.    Lillian E. Schneiter, 88, of Lomira passed away on Monday May 29, 2023, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation, where she resided for the past 10 months.    Lillian was born on May 16, 1935, to the late Albert and Magdalena (Budahn) Brinkman. She grew up on the family farm in the Town of Wayne/Kohlsville, the oldest of three children, followed by siblings Raymond and Bernice. At a young age she took an interest from her Aunt Elsa in making meals and baking. After graduating from West Bend High School, she used her acquired sewing/alteration talents at the JCPenney clothing store in West Bend.   Music was a very expressed interest of Lillian's. She played some piano, dabbled with the accordion, and enjoyed going to dances. It was at a dance that Lillian met her husband. Lillian was united in marriage to Milfred Schneiter on August 25, 1956, at Zion Church. Together they raised their five children around farming until they moved into the Village of Lomira in 1974. Once out of farming, Lillian gained employment seasonally at a local canning factory, while maintaining her custodial role at Midwest Livestock until 1998. Upon her husband's retirement in 1999, they were able to settle back and enjoyed residing in the Lomira area.   Lillian was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lomira.   Her knack of talents included sewing outfits, gardening, wine making, baking, preparing the family meals and canning. Her favorite items to bake were pies, Schaum tortes, donuts, and especially cream puffs. Lillian loved talking with people and always welcomed people into her home serving cake and coffee. Lillian will be missed by all those knew her.   Survivors include her children, Marilyn Boswell of Lomira, Lucille Hein (Special Friend Paul Resch) of Manitowoc, Darlene Mangan and her husband Lee of Sheboygan, Gregory Schneiter of Lomira, and Michael Schneiter of Lomira; also surviving are her grandchildren, Elliott Boswell, Emily Boswell, Anna Boswell, and Andrew Hein. Lillian is further survived by two great-grandchildren, Albert Dehler and Elliott Boswell Jr. Lillian is further survived by brothers-in-law, James Schneiter of Horicon, Kenneth Schneiter of Mayville, and Jerold Stern of Kewaskum; and sisters-in-law, Lillian Wondra of Mayville and Georgia Schneiter of Waupun; also survived by many nieces and nephews.    Preceding her in death was her husband Milfred in 2013; her parents; one brother, Ray Brinkman; one sister, Bernice Brinkman; her brothers-in-law, Maynard, Norman, Orville, Gerald, and Jay Schneiter, Earl Wondra and William Zirbel; her sisters-in-law, Renate Brinkman, Geraldine Zirbel, Donna Mae Stern, Violet, Lorraine, Florence, Pat, Kathy and Marjorie Schneiter.   Funeral services were held on Saturday June 3, at 12 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lomira. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 p.m. Burial followed later at Union Cemetery in Theresa.   Koepsell Funeral Home of Mayville has been entrusted with Lillian's arrangements.    Marcella R. Christian, 96, of rural Mayville passed away peacefully on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Froedtert West Bend Hospital.   She was born the daughter of Robert and Leonora (Pamperin) Nickel on March 1, 1927, in the Town of Wayne, Washington County. She was baptized at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church, both in the Town of Wayne.   Marcella went to a one-room grade school. She needed to learn English when she started school. Her parents were German and German was their primary language. She went to Summer school for learning the Bible, hymns, catechism and the Christian religion. Marcella was a very hard worker. She helped her parents on the farm doing many chores, such as milking the cows, planting and hoeing sugar beets, helping with the crops, driving tractor when they got one. She was also in charge of raising the chickens, feeding them, gathering their eggs, wiping the eggs and putting the eggs in cases to sell for a little extra money.   On August 29, 1948, she was united in marriage with Carl E. Christian at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Town of Wayne. Together with her husband Carl, they farmed in the Town of Theresa until 1972. They milked cows, planted and harvested crops and raised chickens. Later moved to their home in the Town of Theresa, where she lived until December of 2021.   After their marriage, she and Carl became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church (Hochheim) until 1956 when the church burned down and they joined Immanuel Lutheran Church (River Church), where she was a faithful member until her death. She had been a member of the Ladies Aid and the Immanuel Lights. Marcella had a strong faith and loved her Lord and Savior.    Marcella’s family was the most important thing to her. She attended as many events as she could of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved all of them dearly.   She had a passion for quilting. She sewed many quilts for Immanuel Lights missions and even many more for her family. She was known for her cooking and baking, especially for her raspberry kuchen (using raspberries from her garden), date bars, apple slices. She enjoyed cutting the lawn and keeping it looking nice. She also enjoyed gardening vegetables, flowers and her raspberry patch. She also loved canning the vegetables from her garden. She enjoyed researching genealogy and talking about the old days. Marcella and Carl enjoyed traveling to many parts of the U.S. and to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for their granddaughter’s wedding.   She is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Lee) Reklau of Theresa, Susan Keller (Barry Beske) of Mayville and Louise Tilson of Brookfield; her sister, Arlene Rusch of Jackson; her grandchildren, Brian (Angie) Reklau, Mark (Terry) Reklau, Becky (Jacob) Hintz, Kimberly (Matthew) Luehring, Corey (Noelle) Reklau, Amy Keller, Mike (Randi) Keller, Toby (Michelle) Keller, Nathan (Kelly) Keller, Adam (fiancé Zara) Keller; great-grandchildren, Kaley (Fiancé Jake), Mariah, Owen, Chloe, Connor, Zachary, Mackenzie, Jaxson, Marlee, Maddox, Miles, Jolene, Brooklyn (friend Tanner), Dylan, Jedda, Liam, and Preston; step-great-grandchildren, Desiree, Carsen, Cyrus, Peyton (fiancé Jordyn), Presley (friend Trent), Parker (friend Logan), and Piersten.    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; daughter, Karen Christian; sons-in-law, Kurt Tilson, Gary Keller; grandson, Bradley Keller; brothers and sisters and in-laws.    Delores Ann Weiss (nee Buege), 94, of Horicon passed away on May 28, 2023.   Delores was born along with her twin, Dorcas, on May 6, 1929, to Otto and Lucine (Sommerfeldt) Buege of Juneau. Delores and Dorcas graduated in 1947 from Juneau High School.   She was employed as an aid for the Milwaukee School District for many years.   She was a member of the Pomeranian German Society Freestate and reconnected with former high school classmate, Robert F. Weiss. Delores and Bob were married on August 29, 1992, and eventually moved back to Juneau.    Delores was involved with the Horicon Doll Club, the Horicon Marsh Education Center, where she and Bob volunteered and helped raise funds, and participated in many German Fest celebrations. They are also members of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Horicon.    Delores is survived by her husband, Robert F. Weiss; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.   She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Sharpe; her twin sister, Dorcas Soeteber; sister, Darlene Moyer; and brothers, LeRoy Buege and Dennis Buege; her parents and grandparents; other relatives and friends and two husbands.    A visitation was held at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Horicon on Friday, June 2, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiated.    Born in Fond du Lac on January 16, 1939, and passed into the Lord’s arms on May 23,2023.   Joan married the love of her life, Denis, on April 25, 1959. He served in the US Air Force for 20 years which had the family moving to several states, including FL, IN, SD, HI, KS, and TX, where they retired. During retirement they built a beautiful log cabin on Lake O’ the Pines and enjoyed lake views and entertaining family and friends.    Joan was a polio and post-polio survivor, which never stopped her from enjoying the things she loved. Along with her husband of 64 years, she enjoyed RVing 48 states and six providences in Canada. Joan loved dancing, tending to her beautiful flowers, oil painting, decorating her home and cooking for her family.   Family was everything to Joan, and her spirit will live on with her survivors, husband, Denis; daughters, Connie and Sandy; son, Robert and daughter-in-law, Emilie; her granddaughter, Savannah; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.   A memorial will be held at the Justman Family home in Burleson, TX, on June 11, 2023.   In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate, in her memory, to: A Cancer Society near you.

   Eugene Donald Wurtz, “Gene”, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023.    Gene was born in 1932, in Town Byron to Lawrence “Casey” and June (Holterman) Wurtz. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1950. Gene served in the US Navy as an electronics technician aboard the USS Manchester during the Korean War from June 1950 to September 1953.   Upon his discharge from the Navy, Gene joined his father in the family business – Wurtz and Son Refrigeration in Mayville. Forever the entrepreneur, Gene owned several businesses in Mayville over the course of his career, including Wurtz and Son Refrigeration, Wurtz Refrigeration, Wurtz Specialty Ice Company, and later Treasure Trove Antiques. He was also proud of his ability to share his refrigeration and engineering expertise with several classes of students as an instructor at Moraine Park Technical Institute.    On October 1, 1955, Gene married the love of his life Alyce Kloeden at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Together, they were blessed with two children, two grandchildren, three beautiful great-granddaughters.   Family was always very important to Gene and many birthdays, holidays, and regular days were spent camping, at his cottage in Neshkoro, and around the kitchen table laughing and sharing stories of his exploits in his younger days.   His love of community was very strong. His passion for Mayville, Dodge County, the State of Wisconsin, and his Country was evidenced in his lifelong service to all.   He belonged to the American Legion Post 69 in Mayville for 70 years, where he held many offices at the local, county, and district levels. He and Alyce traveled to many National Conventions throughout the country, including Washington DC. In 2019, Gene was honored to participate in the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight back to Washington DC, where he was treated like the hero he truly was, visiting many outstanding monuments and memorials during that adventure of a lifetime, including the Korean Memorial. Upon returning home, Gene finally received the hero’s welcome he so richly deserved.    Continuing with his nature to serve, Gene proudly served on the Dodge County Board of Supervisors – twice. Over 25 years in the 70s thru 90s, and again in 2018 to 2019, he served as 1st Vice Chairman of the Board and on the Audit and Judicial Committees. He was instrumental in getting the new jail built in Juneau – a state of the art facility at the time it was completed. He also had a very long tenure on the Dodge County Housing Authority Board, overseeing several senior housing developments throughout Dodge County.   Gene loved sports, all kinds of sports. He played shortstop on the Mayville High School baseball team, and he was invited to try out for the farm team of the New York Yankees in 1950. In his later years when his running legs had slowed down, he was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Milwaukee Bucks - never missing a chance to watch the games and coach the teams from his chair by the TV.    He was an avid hunter and provided lots of wild game for his family. He enjoyed duck hunting on the Horicon Marsh, his annual hunting trips to Rush Lake and his hunting land in Neshkoro. He also loved fishing – any kind of fishing – from bullheads and northerns at the Greenhead Hunting Club, where he was a long-time member, to trout beneath Bond Falls in Upper Michigan, to salmon fishing off the coast of Oregon.    Gene leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Alyce; daughter, Debra (Paul) Wegner and son, David (Tina) Wurtz; two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Daniel) Chatham and Christopher (Amanda) Wegner; and three beautiful great-granddaughters, Isabella and Sophia Chatham and Julia Wegner. He was a devoted family man, a cherished husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten by his family and friends.Gene was preceded in death and will be reunited with his mother, father, and stepmother, Alice Wurtz; his sister and brother-in-law, Lloyd and Patricia Musack; sister, Kathleen Eineichner; brother, Richard, and brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Marion Wurtz; as well as his niece, Melinda, and many other family and friends.    Friends called 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mayville. Gene was sent to his eternal home with services at St. Paul’s at 11 am with Rev. Traci A. Maass officiating. Military honors were conducted by the American Legion Post #69 of Mayville.    Dennis H. Krueger, 76, of Mayville passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at his home with his loving family surrounding him.   Dennis was born to Harvey and Doris (nee Karnitz) Krueger on March 22, 1947. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1965. Dennis then enlisted in the Army for three years, spending two years in Germany as a tank mechanic.   He was united in marriage to Alice Walters on July 26, 1969, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville, where they are both lifetime members. Dennis belonged to the American Legion Post 270 in Theresa for 56 years. He was an over-the-road truck driver for 44 years, until he retired at the age of 66.   Dennis enjoyed camping, bowling, grilling, and most of all spending time with his family. His favorite channel on TV was westerns.   Dennis will be remembered by his loving wife, Alice, of 53 years; their three children, Daniel (Nicole Rauch) Krueger of Waupun, Jennifer (Joel) Harmsen of Oakfield, and Samantha (Curtis) Schlieve of Waupun; son-in-law, Jerry Clark; eight grandchildren, Isabelle, Marissa, Morgan, Ava, Austin, Riley, Evan, and Hayven; two brothers, Virgil (Cindy) Krueger and Todd (friend Karol) Krueger; three sisters, Mardell (Mike) Sabel, Sandy (Mark) Wessel; and Christine (friend Tracy) Krueger; six sisters-in-law, Cindy Krueger, Bonnie (Dan) Sanger, Linda Haddy, Sandy (Jim) Seering, Barbara (Bob) Holzam, and Diane Walters; three brothers-in-law, David (Mary Ann) Walters, Merlin (Vicki) Walters, and Kenny (Diane) Walters; and many relatives, nieces, nephews, and close friends.    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri Clark; sister, Beverly Schuster; brother, Greg Krueger; brother-in-law, Frances Schuster; nephew, Scott Wessel; and three brothers-in-law, Bob Walters, Donald Walters Jr., and Jerry Haddy.    In honor of Dennis’s wishes, a private family service has been held.
