Lucy Ann Klokow, 85, passed away on Thurs­day, June 22, 2023, at Cross­roads Care Cen­ter in Mayville.    Lucy was born the daugh­ter of Ellis and Lu­cille (Wurl) Stein­bach on May 6, 1938. She was a grad­u­ate of Mayville High School.   Lucy was united in mar­riage to Lam­oyne Klokow in Florida.    Lucy loved music and was the lead singer and gui­tarist in a coun­try band. She en­joyed mak­ing puz­zles and doing word searches. Lucy had a life­long love of birds and en­joyed tend­ing to her flow­ers out­side. Lucy cher­ished the time she spent with her fam­ily and friends.   Lucy is sur­vived by her chil­dren, Deb­o­rah (Dan) Bunkoske and Her­bert (Ann) Timm; her grand­chil­dren, Matthew Giese (Cait­lyn), Jessie (John) Shane, Cassie Giese (Mike), Jen­nifer (Bran­don) Cof­fey, Jes­sica Timm, Ash­ley Koon, Je­re­miah Timm (Katie), and Bailee Timm (Austin); 12 great-grand­chil­dren; her sis­ter, Di­anne Al­binger.    J. Ge­of­frey “Geoff” Washa, 81, of West Bend found peace on Mon­day, May 22, 2023, at home with his fam­ily by his side.   He was born on Au­gust 8, 1941, to the late Joseph and Laura (nee Koudelka) Washa in Mil­wau­kee.    Most of you know him as Geoff, Coach, or Mr. Washa, but he began life with a name tra­di­tion­ally given to the first son, Joseph—for those who won­dered what the “J.” stood for, now you know. To his fam­ily, he was known as Dad and a won­der­ful hus­band. Just as he taught and coached his stu­dents and ath­letes through life, he too taught and coached us through life with in­cred­i­ble in­tegrity and a spe­cial en­cour­ag­ing way to al­ways do your very best!   Being a stu­dent/ath­lete helped Geoff to be an in­flu­en­tial coach. Geoff ex­celled in wrestling. He grad­u­ated from Mil­wau­kee’s Wash­ing­ton High School in 1959 and went on to let­ter all four years wrestling for the Uni­ver­sity of Wis­con­sin La Crosse. Geoff grad­u­ated in 1963 with ma­jors in his­tory and phys­i­cal ed­u­ca­tion.   While in col­lege he met De­lores (Dee) Mc­Clurg. They mar­ried on June 15, 1963, just two weeks after their col­lege grad­u­a­tion! Dee says, “it all began with a smile and that sense of hap­pi­ness stayed with her for all their 60 years to­gether.” She al­ways ad­mired his sense of love for fam­ily, plus his un­wa­ver­ing honor and com­mit­ment.   Geoff’s first teach­ing job began in Bruce, Wis­con­sin, where he taught his­tory and phys­i­cal ed­u­ca­tion, as well as coached wrestling and track. Geoff de­vel­oped a spe­cial kin­ship with some of his first stu­dents, es­pe­cially his wrestlers coach­ing im­por­tant life lessons. Geoff next taught his­tory and coached wrestling, track, and JV foot­ball in Dodgeville.    In 1967, they moved to Mayville, where they lived and worked for the next 30 years. He taught world his­tory to fresh­man and had many classes be­liev­ing he was only 29 years old for many years--al­ways a kid at heart. Geoff’s 34-year coach­ing ca­reer in­cluded being Mayville’s var­sity wrestling coach for 24 years and as­sis­tant var­sity foot­ball coach until 1984, when he be­came the in­terim head foot­ball coach. Geoff stayed on as an ath­letic di­rec­tor and a high school ad­min­is­tra­tor until his early re­tire­ment in 1997 due to his Non-Hodgkin’s Lym­phoma.    Just as he pushed oth­ers to al­ways go hard, be strong, fight tough, he too was a fighter. His fam­ily and friends ad­mired his mul­ti­ple fights with can­cer, a suc­cess­ful 1998 stem cell trans­plant. He was a sur­vivor and would go on to enjoy his re­tire­ment.In 2001, Geoff and Dee moved to Big Cedar Lake, West Bend, where they en­joyed shar­ing their days on their golden pond. Life on the lake meant days of fun and quiet times with their fam­ily, es­pe­cially their two grand­daugh­ters, trav­el­ing and spend­ing his days qui­etly re­lax­ing, feed­ing the birds, fish­ing, and “doing what­ever he dammed well pleased!”   Those Geoff leaves be­hind to cher­ish his mem­ory in­cludes more than 3,000 stu­dents and ath­letes, along with his lov­ing wife, Dee Washa; two chil­dren, J. Bradley (Mar­lea Fur­long and her daugh­ter Brynn) Washa and Kathryn (Randy) Klopfer; two grand­daugh­ters, Bri­anna Klopfer and McKenna Klopfer; niece, Laura (Kevin) Bagin; brother-in-law, Gary (Lin) Mc­Clurg; sis­ter-in-law, Pa­tri­cia (Al) Han­son; and many rel­a­tives and friends.  Timothy J. Boerst "Hopper”, 53, of Theresa, formerly Mayville, passed away peacefully at Froedtert Hospital Sunday, June 11, 2023, due to complications sustained during a motorcycle accident.  Tim was born July 25, 1969, in Madison. In December of 1969, he became the son of James and Alice (Ondrejka) Boerst.  Tim was a 1987 graduate of Mayville High School. He worked at various places in Mayville, including MEC and Metalcraft of Mayville. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1998 and served until 2004. Naval Lieutenant Tim served six years aboard the USS Underwood (FFG-36) Damage Control Man (Surface Warfare Qualified). After his service commitment, he graduated from Jacksonville (FL) Fire Academy and served on the St. John's County Fire and Rescue Department. Returning to WI in 2003, he obtained an associate degree in Para Medicine, and was working toward his bachelor’s degree in emergency services management. He continued to serve non-active-duty status as an officer in the United States Naval Cadets Corps; he was very passionate and loved every moment. Tim joined St. John's Northwestern Academy in August of 2021 and was a Bravo Company Resident Advisor (MA). I cannot express how much joy, working at this establishment brought to Tim. Tim had a combined 33 years of experience as a Firefighter/EMT and Tactical Medic. Tim served as an Engine Company Captain for the Theresa Fire Department and Mayville EMS as an Advance EMT. He also was a Fire/EMS and CPR instructor and was called upon to train first aid to the SJNA facility and staff.   After the devastating loss of Tim’s only son, James, in 2018, Tim dedicated much of his spare time in keeping his son’s memory alive; including Memorial Motorcycle Rides to visiting his son’s graveside daily. Tim played trumpet and shared his special talent with James, who also played. Tim enjoyed volunteering his time for the communities that he resided in and the communities that surrounded him, including frying fish frys for the American Legion in Fond du Lac on some Friday nights. Tim was a very dedicated father, and member of the community.    Those Tim leaves behind are his daughter, Jessica (Jeremy Hunt) Boerst of Neenah; his mother, Alice Boerst of Mayville; his niece, Kristi Lindert of Mayville; his nephew, Dustin (Kristin) Lindert of Mequon; his granddaughters, Lily and Evelyn; his great-niece, Natalie; and his great-nephews, Jaevin, Jerrick, Micah, and Jorden. And many other family and friends. He was truly "one of a kind" and will be missed by many.   Tim is preceded in death by his son, James R.Boerst; his father, James E. Boerst; his sister, Jamy M. Boerst; his grandparents, Arthur and Edna Boerst & Mike and Helen Ondrejka; and many other great-grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and loved ones.  A Mass of Christian Burial for Tim took place on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 12 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa with Rev. Fr. Joe Dominic presiding. A visitation for Tim was held at church on Friday, June 16 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon.    Eve­lyn Lor­raine Krug (nee Ehrhardt), 87, passed away peace­fully on No­vem­ber 22, 2022.   Eve­lyn was born on July 13, 1935, in the Town of Lomira to Mau­rice and Lav­ila Ehrhardt.   She was united in mar­riage to Don­ald Krug on Au­gust 16, 1958, at Emanuel Church, and to­gether they raised two chil­dren. Don­ald passed away on Feb­ru­ary 12, 1992.   Eve­lyn grad­u­ated from Lomira High School in 1953. She at­tended Dodge County Nor­mal School and earned a de­gree in ed­u­ca­tion. She started her ca­reer teach­ing in a one-room school­house be­fore tak­ing a break from ed­u­ca­tion to be a farmwife. Later, she spent 18 years as a para­pro­fes­sional (teacher’s aide) in the Lomira School Dis­trict.   Eve­lyn had a strong faith and was a long­time and in­volved mem­ber of Trin­ity United Methodist Church in Lomira. She was a tal­ented mu­si­cian, in­clud­ing singing alto for many years with the church choir and ear­lier in a trio with three Ehrhardt Sis­ters. She also played the sax­o­phone and ac­cor­dion. Eve­lyn had a pas­sion for pho­tog­ra­phy and travel, and she loved to com­bine the two. She en­joyed de­vot­ing time to local youth, and she was a 4-H leader of the Lomira Clover Leaves Club for nearly 50 years.   Eve­lyn loved her fam­ily dearly, and those she leaves be­hind to cher­ish her mem­ory in­clude her two chil­dren, Lori (Tim) Colleran and Steve Krug; four grand­chil­dren, Kel­lie (Bill) Jacob, Daniel Krug, Anna Krug, and Emilee (Jeff) Simon; six great-grand­chil­dren, Aiden Krug, Brady Jacob, Gra­ham Hocher, Allie Jacob, Brynn Jacob, and Ada­line Simon; sis­ters, Lois Hartwig and Lynette (George) Sher­man and brother, Robert (Janet) Ehrhardt. She is fur­ther sur­vived by nieces, nephews, other rel­a­tives, and friends.    In ad­di­tion to her par­ents and her hus­band, Don­ald; Eve­lyn was pre­ceded in death by her step­mother, LaV­erne Ehrhardt; brother, Ronald Ehrhardt; sis­ter, Carol Dall­man; and broth­ers-in-law, Arlen Hartwig and Mark Dall­man.   A cel­e­bra­tion of Eve­lyn’s life will be held on Sat­ur­day, June 24, 2023, at Trin­ity United Methodist Church (300 Church Street, Lomira). Fam­ily will greet rel­a­tives and friends in vis­i­ta­tion from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at which time a memo­r­ial ser­vice will com­mence in honor of Eve­lyn.    Nancy Jane Glenn Marshall Jones went to her heavenly home Wednesday May 25, 2023.   She was born in West Bend, to the late Emmett and Lois DeBolt Glenn.   She spent many years in Wisconsin, where she graduated from Mayville High School, then The Scout Institute with a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics.   She had a variety of careers, including being one of the first policewomen hired for the Madison Wisconsin Police Department. She also taught school, but enjoyed law enforcement and went back into it, working for the NC Corrections Department, where she retired as an Assistant Superintendent for the Granville unit in Oxford, NC.   She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Suzanne King (Steven); one granddaughter, Katie; and her sister, Diane Glenn.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband(s), Kenneth L. Marshall and Joseph D. Jones; special friend, Arthur Schott; and her sister, Elinor Janet Glenn Saliminas.   A memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s life was held on June 4, at 3 p.m. for family, followed by visitation at 3:30 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, Greensboro, NC.   The family requests that memorial contributions be made in honor of Nancy to Christ United Methodist Church of Greensboro, Hospice of the Piedmont.   The family would like to express sincerest praise and gratitude to Amy Tolbert for the care and love provided to Nancy for more than two years.    Claude H. Rex, 92, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at his home in rural Horicon.   Claude Harvey Rex was born on April 11, 1931, in Beaver Dam, to the late Harvey and Jessie (Goodearle) Rex. He graduated from Horicon High School in 1949.   Claude served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955, as a rifle instructor. When he returned from the military, Claude began farming in the Town of Hubbard; he later passed that farm on to his two sons.   Claude had a love for farming. He was director for the Dodge County Farm Bureau and a founding member of the Dodge County Dairy Promotion Committee.   On September 8, 1957, Claude was united in marriage with Carol Radke; she preceded him in death in April of 2011. On July 28, 2012, he was united in marriage with Elaine Gunst.   He was a long-time member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Horicon.   In 2016, Claude was very proud to take part in the Honor Flight to Washington, DC, accompanied by his eldest grandson, Thomas. He enjoyed taking road trips, playing cards and sharing a beer.   Survivors include his wife, Elaine Rex of Horicon; three children, Cynthia (William) Peterson of Sussex, Curtis (Kay) Rex and Craig (Diann) Rex, both of Horicon; grandchildren, Chloe (Jesse) Gaines, Carly Peterson, Thomas (Ana) Rex, Theresa (Ryan) Kuhn, Andrew Rex, Robert (Anna) Rex, Maria (Peter) Boggeln, Matthew (Kayla) Rex, Melody Rex, Allison Rex, and Hamilton Rex; 13 great-grandchildren; his brother, Rodney Rex of Iron Ridge; four step-children, Noreen (Larry) Dogs, Curtis Gunst, Willis (Carla) Gunst, and Dennis (Nichole) Gunst; nine step-grandchildren, and ten step-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.   Claude was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Rex; a grandson, Alexander Rex; and two great-grandchildren, baby Kuhn and Collyns Joy Rex.   A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 12, at 1 p.m. at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Horicon, with Rev. Renae Dymond officiating. Family and friends may visit from 10 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon.   If desired, memorials may be made in Claude H.    On June 3rd, 2023, John A. Steger passed away at Froedtert Hospital with his loving family by his side, at the age of 79.   John was born on February 9, 1944, in Beaver Dam, the son of Earl and Clara (Strasser) Steger.   He was married to the love of his life Ardis Schultz on July 14, 1962. They raised three children together: John, Christine and Wendy.   John was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lake Puckaway was his second home; life was complete when he was spending time with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends on the pontoon and making “Papa’s world-famous waffles”. He treasured the annual hunting trip in fall of the year with his son, son-in-law, grandsons, brother-in-laws, and special nephew, Chad. Arizona was a place the whole family enjoyed making countless memories. Always welcomed with open arms by our Arizona Kominska family.   John retired from Seneca Foods in 2005 and spent 19 years retired, creating a lifetime of memories with his family and loving wife. John would tell all he knew that “he was the richest man in the world!” Not because he had money, but because of the love of his family and all that knew him.    John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ardis Steger; son, John and Dawn Steger; daughter, Christine and David Churchill; daughter, Wendy and Cory Baker; grandchildren, Travis (Lauren) and Trent (Danielle) Steger, Samantha (Brad) Prinsen, Zachary, Alexander (Emily) and Madison Churchill., Riley and Georgia Baker.; great-grandchildren, Reese, Wrenly, Beckett, Boston and Bodhi Steger, and coming in 2023 two new great-grandbabies. He is further survived by brothers, Grant (Kelly) and Keith (Kristin) Steger, sisters, Deborah (Gary) Bortz and Sonja Cears; brothers-in-law, Allen (Marlis) Schultz, Robert (Shirley) Schultz; sister-in-law, Geraldine (Kent) Kominska; special niece, Trisha (Joe) Hanni and their children, Preston, Kennedy and Hudson, as well countless treasured nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.   John was preceded in death by his parents, Earl, Clara, and Jackie Steger; parents-in-law, Victor and Laverne Schultz; and brother, Earl Steger Jr.    A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for John took place on Tuesday, June 13, at 12 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa with Rev. Fr. Joe Dominic presiding. Visitation for John was held on Tuesday, June 13, at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Inurnment took place at St. Theresa Memorial Gardens in Theresa.   The family wishes to thank Dr. Tadeo A.
