Steven S. Bonlender, 63, went home to heaven where they need help with the farm fields Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Kathy Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer with his beloved family gathered with him. He was born December 5, 1955, in Fond du Lac, the son of Harold E. and Eileen A. (Steger) Bonlender. On September 30, 1978, Steve married Mary Lou M. Fell at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Ashford. Steve was employed at Kasten Mfg, drove milk truck, spent 25 years as a foreman/operating engineer for Michels Corporation and worked for many farmers throughout his life. He had a passion for farming and enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, snowmobiling, bowling, ATVing, tractor pulls and farm auctions. Most important to Steve was time spent with family and friends, especially his five granddaughters. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Lou; son, Rick (Ashley) Bonlender and their daughters, Sierrah, Kennedy and Holland, daughter, Krystle (Adam) Helsell and their daughters, Mackenzie and Libbie; siblings, Darlene (Allen) Werkmeister, Loren (Gail) Bonlender, Sharon (Dennis) Hundt and Mary B. (Joseph) Spaeth; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Fell, Donald Fell, Randall (Tina) Fell and Gordon (Robin) Fell; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and infant sister, Rita. Jana Kay Mallon, 45, of Burnett, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2019. Jana was born on November 20, 1973, in Waupun to Bernard and Janice Schmitz. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Burnett. She attended school in Horicon and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Marian University. On April 18, 1998, she was united in marriage to Robert Mallon at Zion Lutheran Church in Burnett. They were blessed with two children, Hunter and Cassie. Jana worked as a registered nurse for 24 years both at Beaver Dam Community Hospitals and Watertown Regional Medical Center. She has been with Hillside Home Care and Hospice for the past three and a half years. Jana’s motto was to treat each patient as if they were a member of herfamily. Janawas also involved in her community as a Burnett First Responder and a Sunday school teacher. Jana is survived by her loving husband, Bob of Burnett. She is also survived by her children, Hunter and Cassie, at home; her parents, Bernard and Janice Schmitz of Burnett, as well as her mother-inlaw, Sharon Mallon of Horicon and her sisterin- law, Robin (Kari) Mallon of Wind Lake; her siblings, Karl (Kelly) Schmitz of Burnett, Janelle (Heath) Fishbaugher of Markesan, Bill (Christine) Schmitz of Horicon, Chris (Molly) Schmitz of Poynette, Jenny (Derrick) Weinberger of Burnett as well as nieces and nephews, Julianna and Nathan Fishbaugher and Lily, Jack, Jase, and Jacob Schmitz. Patricia Jane Schoenecker, 78, of Theresa, passed away on July 9, 2019 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. Patricia was born the daughter of Herman and Margaret (Totsky) Kaufert on January 18, 1941, in Milwaukee. She was a graduate of Custer High School in Milwaukee. Patricia was united in marriage to Donald A. Schoenecker on June 18, 1960, in Milwaukee. She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Lomira. In her spare time, she enjoyed taking gaming trips with her husband. Patricia also liked socializing and ran Pat and Don’s Beer House in Theresa and earlier at Hillside Liquor in Milwaukee. Patricia is survived by her husband, Donald of Theresa; her children, Craig (Tammy) Schoenecker of Milwaukee, Brian (Pam) Schoenecker of Markesan, and Kim (Jeff) Zylka of Theresa; her grandchildren, Andrew (Marlene) Cox, Michael Schoenecker, Savannah (Ryan) Doylen, Brian Schoenecker, Jr., Matthew Schoenecker, Emma Schoenecker, and Bridget Zylka; her great- grandchildren, Blake, Penelope, Annie, and Elliott; her sister-inlaw, Sally Kaufert; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Carl N. Tighe, 801 Dayton Street, Mayville, was called home to his Lord and Savior on July 12, 2019, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac after a brief battle with bone cancer. Carl was born September 23, 1939, in LeRoy to Walter and Elizabeth (Stadler) Tighe. He attended St. Andrews Catholic School and Mayville High School graduating in 1959. Carlie was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville, as well as the Mayville American Legion. Carlie began his working career as a roofer with his father and later years with his brothers “Pat” and brother Jerry and lastly his brother Ken Tighe and brotherin- law, Max Strasser. He proudly served his country in the Army Reserves from 1959 through the Berlin Crisis. Later he ran the Breeze Inn Bar between Mayville and Theresa and after that the Breeze Inn in Mayville. He became the co-owner of Woods Bridge on Lake Sinissippi and in 1986 bought The Pub Supper Club in Mayville. In 1990 he married his best friend and partner, Luanne Margelofsky Muche. Together they ran The Pub until their retirement in 2007. Carlie touched the lives of many people and made lifelong friends during the years he ran his businesses. He will be remembered for always having a smile on his face, making the best Old Fashioned, and lending an attentive ear to your problems and joys. He was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Carlie was an avid Badger and Packer fan (even in the bad years), also a fan of stock car racing where he supported his nephews Sam Strasser, Pat Tighe, and Mike Tighe in their hobby. He also enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino and trying to beat his granddaughter, Mataya, in cribbage. Those Carlie leaves behind to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his loving wife, Luanne; step-daughters, Janell (Bret) Loescher of Watertown, JoAnn (Scott Locks) Reed of Lomira; step-daughterin- law, Michelle Muche Trombley and her husband Todd; grandchildren, Jordan Muche, Gavin, Miles and Grace Loescher and his little “princess” Mataya Reed; mother-in-law, Verda Margelofsky; sisters, Phyllis Strasser, Patsy Rusch and Georgene (Dan) Kohli; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Tighe, Sue Tighe, Dick and Karen Spiering, Merle and Lorraine Margelofsky, Larry and Cindy Margelofsky, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Walter “Wally” E. Schwartz, 91, of Allenton, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019, at Cedar Community, West Bend after a brief illness. Walter was born on November 27, 1927, in the Town of Addison, to parents, Joseph and Agnes (Schmidt) Schwartz He was united in marriage to Agnes Van Beek on September 28, 1949, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception, Barton. In his earlier years, he started hauling can milk and then in 1946 at the age of 19, he started his own business, Schwartz Trucking hauling livestock, grain and canning crops along with white washing hundreds of dairy barns. In 1947 he bought a farm in the town of Addison where he and Agnes farmed and ran the trucking company together. Then in 1972 they quit milking and started raising veal calves, steers and hogs. In 1979 Gary joined Walter in the livestock and grain business and in 1981 Rick joined Walter in the whitewashing business. A hard day’s work was Wally’s best day. Being devoted to his farming customers and which usually included a couple of stories of the old days and even when Walter was a little under the weather a quick gargle with kerosene was always his cure all. Even in his 90’s, Walter’s real passion was driving his tractor and working the land with polka music playing. Walter is survived by his loving children, Rick, Jacqueline (J.B.) Howard, Gary (Nancy) and Judy (Kurt) Goeman; cherished grandchildren, Austin and Tanner Goeman, Josh and Kinsey Birkholz, Gina and Ryan Iseler; great-grandchildren, Grace and Gabe Birkholz; dear siblings, Ed (Louise) Schwartz; sister-in-law, Rosemary Fickert; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Walter was preceded in death by his loving wife, Agnes of 66 years; parents; brother, Herbert (Lucille); sister, Rosella (Clem) Langenecker; brothers and sister-in-law, Furdie Fickert, Florence (Kenneth) Hefter and Hubert Van Beek. Walter said many times how much he enjoyed living at Cedar Community where he spent many hours praying the holy rosary for all of us. Ida Unertl, 96, was received by the Lord on July 1, 2019, at Matthews of Horicon surrounded by her loving family. Ida Helen Mayer was born on April 24, 1923, in Rozellville, the daughter of Martin and Anne Katherine (Strauss) Mayer the sixth child of 10 and grew up in Millador.She was united in marriage to George Unertl on May 8, 1940, in Vesper.She and her husband, George, farmed in Dodge County on Wildcat Road and Hochheim Road.She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa and a member of the Mayville Senior Center. She was a leader of 4H, participating in the Dodge County Fair. Ida was also a member of the Dodge Co. Farm Bureau, Dodge Farm Bureau Woman of the Year 1983.In her earlier years, Ida enjoyed raising chicks and selling eggs to local stores, gardening, picking strawberries, and playing cards.In her later years, she enjoyed going to the casino and traveling.
