Sharon Ann "Sherry" (Kietzer) Kohli, 77, of Lomira, was called home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 5, 2021, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Sherry was the daughter of Lester and Bernice (Beitz) Kietzer, born July 27, 1943, in Fond du Lac.
Valedictorian of the Lomira High School class of 1961, Sherry went on to UW-Oshkosh for two years.
On March 15, 1964, she married her high school sweetheart Alfred "Al" Kohli Jr. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lomira.
A lifelong student of ornithology, she was always on the lookout for special birds, particularly cardinals.
An avid game player she enjoyed bridge, sheepshead, and casinos. There was never a puzzle too complex for her to tackle. Always cheering on the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, she never missed a game. Reading was Sherry's special joy as well as cooking and baking the best apple pies and cookies.
Sherry and Al visited all 50 states including Washington DC and traveled many times to Louisiana to visit her granddaughter.
Sherry was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lomira. She was also an active member of The Friends of the Lomira Library.
Left behind to cherish Sherry's memory are her husband, Al; three children, Terryl "Terry" Hopper of Springfield, LA, Steven "Steve" Kohli of Green Bay, and Kristine "Kris" (John) Rigotti of Lomira; granddaughter, Danielle Hopper; Tony Beauchamp and Jeff Kohlmann extended family to Kris and John; her brother, Michael "Mike" (Laurene "Red"); sisters-in-law, Betty (Mike) Schraufnagel and Jane Kietzer; brothers-in-law, Morris Rose and John (Theora "Teddy") Kohli; nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her son, Bryan "Beezer" Kohli; son-in-law, Nelson Hopper Jr.; brother, Robert "Bob" Kietzer, and sister, Barbara Rose.
The family greeted friends and relatives at Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home, 350 Main Street, Lomira, on Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday, Feb. 11, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 550 Water Street, Lomira, from noon until 2 p.m.
The service for Sherry will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lomira, on Thursday Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. Rev. Matthew Kiecker will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Live streaming will be available for anyone unable to attend the service on the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home Facebook page.
