Delores “Dee” M. Ward


   Delores “Dee” M. Stump) Ward, 69, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 8, 2021, at her home in Kewaskum, surrounded by family.   She was born on September 7, 1951, in Illinois to W. Austin and Margaret (Kaufman) Stump.   Dee enjoyed family time, volunteering, quilting, needlepoint, reading and traveling.   Dee is survived by her step-son, Steve Ward and wife Katherine Taylor; five step-grandchildren, Alexandra, Isabelle, Andrew, Christian, Ethan; and six siblings, Kay Brown, Kathy Redington, Michael Stump, Marie McDonnell (Thomas), Trisha Lehman, Connie Mottley (Terry); and sister-in-law, Marge Buchholz. In addition, Dee is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.   Dee was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Ward; her parents, W. Austin and Margaret Stump; her brother, Richard Stump and brother-in-law, Daniel Redington.   Visitation will be at the Phillip Funeral Home on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 1:00 until 2:15 p.m. Interment will be a later date at St. Lucas Cemetery in Kewaskum.   A Funeral Service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095) with Pastor Timothy Henning presiding.    In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be sent to Kewaskum Community Food Pantry at P.O. Box 502 Kewaskum, WI. 53040. Patricia Marchant, 82, of the Town of Auburn passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Serenity Villa in Campbellsport with her beloved family gathered around her. She was born in Ashington, Northumberland, England on March 25, 1938, the daughter of Charles Catherine (Lisle) Wallace. On April 10, 1957, Pat married Joseph Marchant in Luton, Bedfordshire, England. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Fond du Lac. Pat worked at the Ben Franklin in Campbellsport for a number of years. Pat enjoyed knitting and was an excellent cook, seamstress and a wonderful baker providing many cake donuts and sweet rolls for her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Joe; children, Colleen (John) Reigle, Nadine (Larry) Lendved, Wayne (Dawn) Marchant, Renae Braatz, Dawn (Jeff) Bengel, Tony (Linda) Marchant and Tim (Missy) Marchant; grandchildren, Randy (Betsy), Ryan (Ashlyn), Rick (Lindsey), Rose (Dan), Julie (Paul), Jessica (Terry), Jonathon (Alex), Nick (Jess), Samantha (Andy), Paul (Stephanie), Louie (Nikki), Alex (Celeste), Barry (Olivia), Joseph (Danielle), Michael, David, Hailey (Matthew), Kristy (Sam), Wesley (Brittany), Kordell (Chloe), Nicole (Riley), Patrick, Rebecca, Bennett (Brooke) and Erica; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Robert (Ros) Wallace; sister-in-law, Lola Ebert; other relatives and friends. Gerald J. “Jerry” Gosa Jr.


Gerald J. “Jerry” Gosa Jr., 68, of Kewaskum, formerly of Waukesha, passed away on March 5, 2021, after battling Covid-19 related pneumonia for 49 days. Jerry grew up in Waukesha and went to Waukesha South High School, where he met the love of his life Mary, whom he would later wed. He was an Eagle Scout and varsity letter winner in three sports including: football, basketball, and track and field. He attended the University of Wisconsin on a full athletic scholarship where he played football for the Badgers. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education, later earning a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from UW-Oshkosh. Jerry taught chemistry at Kewaskum High school for 38 years, his entire teaching career, and served as head coach of the boys and girls varsity track and field team for 25 years. One of his proudest achievements was building his home in Kewaskum with the help of family and friends. Furthermore, he worked tirelessly as president of Kewaskum Youth Scholarships (KEYS) which has awarded over $2 million in scholarships to Kewaskum’s High School graduates since co-founding the organization in 1986. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial Committee and volunteered with United Way. For these efforts in the community, he received a Hometown Hero Award at the State Capitol in Madison in 2020. In his free time and later in retirement, he enjoyed staying physically active, particularly through cycling and cross-country skiing. He was very proud of summiting Alpe d’Huez in France on his bicycle and completing 20 Birkebeiner cross country races over his lifetime. He also loved traveling with his best friend and wife, Mary, and together they visited many locales in the United States, Egypt, and Europe, including many trips to his favorite destination - Italy. He was an avid sports fan and loved supporting the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers. However, nothing made him happier than spending time with his children and grandchildren who were his pride and joy. Jerry was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed attending and watching all of their events in person and then virtually, cheering each child or grandchild on in his own special way. Jerry is survived by his wife Mary (Brant); daughter, Rachel (Jim) Lustig; son, David (Keri) Gosa; daughter, Katharine (Matt) Gundrum; daughter, Colleen (Dan) Nalepinski; and his eleven grandchildren, Leah, Tyler, Lily, and Jack Lustig, Reagan and Ellie Gosa, Lucas and Neva Gundrum and Viola, Cecilia and Rosalind Nalepinski. He is further survived by his sisters, Kathy (Dean) Hunter, Cindy (Warren) Schlei, and Mary (Michael) Sanford; his brother, Jamie (Kim) Gosa; brother-in-law, Vince Brant; sister-in-law, Gina (Jeff) Rose; his aunts, Darlene Gosa, Grace Erato, and Janice Brant; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially Bob Fredrich and Gordon Haberman. He was preceded by his parents, Gerald Sr. and Elizabeth Gosa; and parents-in-law, Murray and Mary Brant. Jerry was a devout and lifelong Catholic. His dying wish was to share the following, coined by Professor Laurie Zoloth, “The Golden Rule, in the case of COVID-19...I get vaccinated - or wear a mask - to protect you, and you do so to protect me.” In lieu of flowers, please get vaccinated and wear a mask to protect others. Dolores A. Arndt


Dolores A. Arndt, 80, of DeForest, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2021. She was born in Dundee, WI to Vilas and Evelyn Ludwig on February 24, 1941. Dolores graduated from Campbellsport High School and married her high school sweetheart, Dave. Together they raised a tight-knit family of three boys and enjoyed camping, variety of sports and music. Dolores worked as a middle school teacher’s aide and later an employee of Bakke Chiropractic Clinic Dolores was a cub scout leader, Wisconsin Jaycette, a community volunteer, member of the Christian Women's Club and avid bunco player. Dolores enjoyed reading, listening to music, writing letters to her family, and genealogy. Dolores had a special place in her heart for her Siamese cats. Throughout their 59 years of marriage, Dolores and Dave enjoyed dancing to a wide variety of music, especially polka. A devout Christian, Dolores attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie. Dolores was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dave; son, Brad; sister, Joyce Gatzke; and brothers Norman and Elton Ludwig. She is survived by her sons, Brice (Kristine) and Blair (Jennifer); nine grandchildren: Ryan, Sara, Emily, Brittney, Chelsia, Austin, Ashley, Alyssa and Breanna; as well as four great grandchildren: Broden, Aralynn, Breeja, and Kaib. Brice and Blair would like to send a special thank you to all those that have reached out to Dolores throughout these last three years since Dave passed away. A celebration of life will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin on Friday, March 12th at 11:00 am with a visitation starting at 10:00 am. Charles A. “Chuck” Vorpahl


Charles A. “Chuck” Vorpahl, 84, of the town of Auburn, went to his heavenly home on Monday, March 8, 2021. Chuck was born on November 2, 1936, in Kewaskum, the son of Louis and Minnie (Nelson) Vorpahl. Chuck graduated from Kewaskum High School – class of 1954. He then went to serve his country in the U.S. Army/National Guard from 1958 to 1964. On February 21, 1997, he was united in marriage to Jean Kedinger in Maui which started their enjoyed travels to Costa Rica, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Africa, Trinidad, Tobago, Galapagos, Machu Picchu, Peru, Holland, and three times to Alaska. Chuck loved hiking, fishing, hunting, and morel hunting. Those Chuck leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Jean; four children, Jeff (Carol) Vorpahl of Sheboygan Falls, Julie (Randy) Voigt of Lac du Flambeau, Sandy Vorpahl of Campbellsport, and Kelly (Jason) Staffin of Kewaskum; seven grandchildren, Angie Vorpahl, Lisa (Tyler) Gonzales, Mandy Vorpahl, Christopher (Kathleen) Vorpahl, Stephanie Voigt, Samantha Staffin, and Emmett Staffin; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Redinger; a brother, Louis “Joe” (Rachel) Vorpahl; two brothers-in-law, David Kedinger and William (Colleen) Kedinger; his mother-in-law, Virginia Kedinger; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by three sisters, Beatrice (Benedict) Fellenz, Lois (Lee) Breitkreutz, and Doris Vorpahl; two brothers in infancy, Karl and Evan Vorpahl; and two sisters in infancy, Elizabeth and Ellen Vorpahl; two brothers-in-law, Marvin Berndt and Leonard Redinger; and his father-in-law, Donald Kedinger. Chuck’s family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, March 13, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Drive, in Kewaskum from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services for Chuck will be held at 1 p.m. at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church on Saturday. Rev. Timothy Henning will officiate and burial will follow at Orchard Grove Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials to St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice is appreciated. Joseph “Joe” P. Schnitzler


Joseph Schnitzler, 89, of Theresa passed away peacefully at St Francis Terrace on Monday, March 8, 2021. He had been a resident at St Francis Terrace assisted living in Fond du Lac for the past year and a half. He was born on April 4, 1931, on the Schnitzler family farm in the Town of Theresa to Edwin and Angela (Schmidt) Schnitzler. Joseph attended school at St. Theresa's school and graduated from Good Road School in 1945. On September 30, 1961, he was united in marriage to Henrietta Peters at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. Joseph and Henrietta met at a dance and enjoyed dancing for many years. Joseph was employed at Purity Cheese Company in Mayville for thirty years and then was a self-employed house painter until 2010 when he “retired”. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, vegetable gardening, caring for flowers and wine making. It was always a pleasure to see all of his flowers and eat of his garden produce throughout the growing season. Joseph was an active lifetime member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Theresa. Over the years, he served in various ways including being a member of the Knights of Columbus, cemetery board member, caring for the flowers and shrubs on the church grounds, painting, ushering and taking communion to homebound parishioners just to name a few. Joseph is survived by two loving children, Leo (Candi) Schnitzler of Menomonee Falls and Gerene Schnitzler of Theresa,; two grandsons, Avery and Levi; two sisters-in-law, Lillian Ritger of West Bend and Rita Peters of West Bend; many nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta; three brothers, Andrew (Jean and Marion) Schnitzler, Henry (Shirley) Schnitzler and Martin (Annie) Schnitzler; nine brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 12, at 3 p.m. at St Theresa’s Catholic Church, 102 Church St, Theresa with the Rev. Father Thomas Biersack presiding. The family will greet relatives and friends at a visitation, which will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the 3 p.m. service. Burial will follow at St. Theresa Cemetery in Theresa. Masks and social distancing will be required. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at St Francis Terrace and Agnesian Hospice Hope for their compassionate care of Joseph. Rev. Delmer Frank Kannenberg


The Lord in his infinite and gracious wisdom called from this life to the glories of heaven the soul of Delmer Frank Kannenberg on February 26, 2021, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 27 days. Pastor Delmer Frank Kannenberg was born on February 27, 1937, in town Jackson, of Herman John Kannenberg and,his wife, Linda nee Matter. He was baptized on March 14, 1937, by Pastor Martin F. Riesche at David's Star Ev. Lutheran Church where he was also confirmed on March 18, 1951 by Pastor Paul J. Gieschen. His confirmation verse was Psalm 27 verse 4, "One thing have I desired of the Lord, that I will seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to enquire in his temple." Pastor Kannenberg married Barbara Ann Zarling of Milwaukee on June 21, 1958. Barbara is a graduate of West Bend High School and the Milwaukee Business Institute. She worked at Mercury Marine in Cedarburg, West Bend Mutual Insurance Co in West Bend and Mayer Insurance in Jackson in addition to other part-time jobs and her household and family responsibilities. Delmer attended Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee for three years and then transferred to Northwestern Preparatory School, in Watertown, from which he graduated in 1956. After graduating from high school, he studied basic electricity at Milwaukee Area Technical College, television repairing at Milwaukee School of Television and computer programming at UW-Oshkosh. After working at the Herbst Shoe Manufacturing Company he worked for the Mercury Marine Division of the Brunswick Corporation. He discontinued his employment as inventory control manager at Mercury Marine in 1968 to enroll in ministerial training classes at Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato, MN. In 1971, he enrolled at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, from which he graduated in 1975. Delmer served as vicar at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, WI during his last two seminary years. Upon graduating from the seminary, Delmer was assigned to the dual parishes of Trinity and Zum Kripplein Christi congregations in the Town of Herman, Dodge County, serving them for nine years. In 1984, he received a Call to serve Zion congregation, Denver, CO where he served until 1997 when he accepted the call extended to him by the Wisconsin Ev. Lutheran Synod to serve as missionary in Cameroon, Africa. From 1997 to 2001, he served in the WELS mission field of Cameroon after which he continued to serve as liaison until 2004. Cross of Christ congregation, Liverpool, NY extended a one­ year Call which he accepted and served from April 2001 to April of 2002. After the one-year call was completed he continued to serve this congregation on a part-time basis until the end of November in 2002. Upon retirement at age 65, Delmer continued to accept invitations for preaching and mission presentations on the work in Cameroon. He also did part-time work for his son-in-law Bill Moldenhauer and Bill's brother, Richard, on their dairy farm in Town Herman, Hartford. The Lord blessed their marriage with four daughters, Sharon Moldenhauer (her husband William) of Hartford, Lori Dorn (her husband Greg) of Madison, Diane Calkins (her husband John) of Fond du Lac, and Linda Pedersen also of Fond du Lac. Delmer is survived by his ten grandchildren, Jeffrey (Koa), Lisa (John) LeBlanc, Kristine, and Daniel (Charisse) Moldenhauer, Joshua (Danielle), Aaron (Aimee), and Jordan Calkins, Elizabeth Puffer, Erika Lyun and JonAlden Pedersen; nine great grandchildren, Benjamin, Sara, Abigail, Marah, Ezekiel, Thaddeus, Maison, Aria, and Archer; his sister-in-law, Janet Kannenberg, brother-in-law, William Gauger, further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Pastor Kannenberg was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Linda Kannenberg; sisters, Lillian and Marlene; a son-in-law, Richard Pedersen; brother, Wilmer; brothers-in-law, Gerald Zarling and Ladislaus Matchey; and a sisters-in­ law, Aurelia Zarling and Audrey Matchey. A funeral service for Pastor Kannenberg will be held on Saturday, March 20, at 12 p.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Hartford (Huilsburg) with the Rev. Jeffrey Drake officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:30 until the time of the service 12 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to WELS Missions. David G. Feucht, 80, of Eagar, AZ, formerly of Mayville, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2021, at home. His wife Christine was with him. David was born in Fond du Lac, to Alexander and Veronica (Pionkoske) Feucht on November 20, 1940. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1959. He earned Green Beret status in the U.S. Army during the 1960s. He received a bachelor’s degree from Oshkosh State University and a graduate degree from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. He worked in several jobs over the years. These included work as a mechanic, teamster, teacher, lumber company worker and finally with the United States Forest Service. Dave was a kind, generous, smart and private man who thought of others before himself. Dave married Christine Hussli in 1969. They spent most of their married life together in Idaho and Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Chris; siblings, Alex (Kuan) Feucht of Henderson, NV, Jean (Art) Schwarze of Lexington, NE and Geri (Tim Bachhuber) Feucht of Mayville; brother-in-law, Dennis (Janet) Hussli of Mayville; many nieces, nephews and cousins and his aunt, Izzy Guse of Lomira. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Vernie and his brother, Bill Feucht, all of Mayville. He was also preceded by his parents-in-law, Andy and Anne (Schnaderbeck) Hussli of Mayville and sister- and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Bob Brandl of Ripon. No funeral or memorial services are scheduled.

Marie (Schultz) Buchta: Daughter, Sister, Niece, Aunt, Student, Bride, Wife, Church Member, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Widow, 90, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at The Kathy Hospice in West Bend. Marie was born the daughter of Charles and Clara (Reinel) Schultz on March 9, 1930, in Jefferson County. She graduated from Jefferson High School with the honor being Valedictorian of the class of 1948. Marie was united in marriage to Harvey Buchta in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jefferson, Wisconsin on June 18, 1948. The two enjoyed 64 plus years of marriage until Harvey’s death in 2014. She was a faithful member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville, where she served her congregation as a Sunday School teacher, parent-teacher member, and the past president and member of the Dorcas Society. She was also a member of the Bible Class Family. She had been employed at many different jobs over the years including, Marie’s Mini Mart and the Village Flower Shoppe in Kekoskee. She was also known as the ‘Welcome Wagon Lady’ in Mayville and broadcasted on WBEV radio from her home for many years. In her spare time, Marie loved playing cards and games with the family. She loved word games on the computer and she always had a jigsaw puzzle going. She had stacks of books by her chair and she was always ready for an excursion. She did everything with a sharp mind and a radiant smile. Faith and family were important to Marie and she cherished the time spent with them and encouraged them along their journey in faith. Marie is survived by her children, Jim (Jane) Buchta of Fort Atkinson, Dan (Lois) Buchta of Mayville, Jeff (Gail) Buchta of Ixonia, Kathleen (Peter) Tomasulo of Phoenix, AZ, Barb (Robert) Haessly of Mayville,, and Mike Buchta of Dousman; her grandchildren, Bill (Rhona) Buchta, Chris (Kimberly) Buchta, Abram (Jen) Buchta, Kelsey (Jason) Tighe, Bob Buchta, Don (Nicole) Buchta, Tammy (Randy) Teitz, Tim (Heidi) Buchta, Michelle (Jon) Butzine, Anna Tomasulo, Joe Tomasulo, Sam Tomasulo, Adam (Angelia) Schultz, Laethan Schultz, Jack Buchta and Natalie Buchta; 19 amazing great-grandchildren;further survived by other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; grandson, Dane Buchta; great-grandson, Anderson Butzine; her sister, Hazel Biederman; and brothers, Ralph and Dean Schultz. A visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, at the St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. A funeral service for Marie was held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 1 p.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville with the Rev. Dr. Mark G. Cutler officiating. Burial took place at St. John Cemetery in Mayville.
