   Gre­gory R. Schmidt, 53, passed away at his home in Hori­con on Sat­ur­day, Nov. 26, 2022.    Greg was born on Sep­tem­ber 5, 1969, to Dale and Helen (Schowal­ter) Schmidt in Beaver Dam.   He grad­u­ated from Hori­con High School. He also re­ceived his de­gree from Evan­gel Col­lege in Spring­field, MO, in psy­chol­ogy and Bib­li­cal Stud­ies. Greg was a mem­ber of Elm­brook Church in Brook­field, and at­tended Chris­t­ian Life Fel­low­ship.    Greg’s re­la­tion­ship with God was some­thing that has al­ways been im­por­tant to him. At Elm­brook Church, he was a very ac­tive mem­ber hold­ing youth and adult Bible stud­ies. Greg also had a love for the great out­doors. Some of his hob­bies in­cluded camp­ing, ca­noe­ing, hik­ing, bik­ing, and pho­tog­ra­phy. Greg’s pas­sion for help­ing peo­ple showed daily at Clearview where he was a CNA for many years.    Greg will be deeply missed by his mother, Helen; his sis­ter-in-law, Teresa (John) Eisen­menger; and many rel­a­tives and friends.   Greg was pre­ceded in death by his fa­ther and his brother, Michael.    A Cel­e­bra­tion of Life ser­vice for Greg took place on Sat­ur­day, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. at Chris­t­ian Life Fel­low­ship in Mayville, with Pas­tor Matt Lewandowski of­fi­ci­at­ing. Joyce M. Schmidt


Joyce M. Schmidt, 78, of Kewaskum, was called home to be with her Lord on November 28, 2022, at Kathy Hospice in the Town of Polk, surrounded by the love of her family. Joyce was born on August 3, 1944, in West Bend, the daughter of the late Walter and Isabelle (nee Peters) Goeden. On April 4, 1970, she was united in marriage to Ralph “Ralphie” Schmidt at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend.Joyce was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. She loved working at Holy Trinity Catholic School, where she was a playground supervisor. She also cared for elderly sisters at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport and later she was employed at Pick N Save as a deli worker. Her favorite activity to talk about and do was helping out at Holy Trinity Church and School tutoring children with reading. Joyce enjoyed baking food for friends and family, reading, doing word finds, and collecting angels. Above all else she loved and cared deeply for her husband, Ralph.Those Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Christine Holliman of Caledonia; a sister, Mary Ann (Al) Hupfer; a brother, Edward (Carole) Goeden; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Ralph) Goeden – Chapman and Alice Schmidt; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Schmidt and Raymond (Betty) Schmidt; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her brothers, Father Earl Goeden OFM Cap., Herbert (Barbara) Goeden, and Richard Goeden; her brothers-in-law, Leander Schmidt and Walter Schmidt; two sisters-in-law, Catherine (Matthias) Schickert, Lena (Eugene) Wiedmeyer, Darlene Schmidt, and Barbara Schmidt; and her parents-in-law, Emil and Margaret (nee Doll) Schmidt.Visitation: Joyce’s family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 305 Main Street, in Kewaskum on Saturday, December 3, 2022, from 10 a.m. until Noon.Mass of Christian Burial: A Mass for Joyce will be held at Noon at the church on Saturday with Rev. Harry Jacob Batzler, 96, of Ashford went to his heavenly home on Saturday, November 19, 2022. He was born on March 22, 1926, in St. Kilian, the eldest son of Oscar and Loretta Batzler (nee Kohl). He attended Hillside School and worked on the family farm during his youth. He met the love of his life, Olive Marie Mueller, who lived just a mile away from his boyhood home. They were married on June 7, 1947, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Harry and Olive were married for 71 years. Olive passed away in October 2018. Harry lived most of his life in Ashford, where he and Olive raised five children. He was a life-long member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church. Harry started Batzler Trucking in 1949. He hauled milk to local cheese factories and he owned and operated a small sand and gravel business. Harry enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. His favorite past times were smoking his pipe, mowing the lawn, watching the Packers and All-Star Wrestling, and eating breakfast at Diner 67. He took pride in his children and grandchildren and the continued legacy of the business he created - Batzler Trucking.Survivors include his children, Madonna (Gregory) Drake, Theresa (Bob) Dunkleberger, Jake (Kathy) Batzler, Claire (Dennis) Beck, and Tony (Jolene) Batzler; grandchildren, Sarah (Hector) Drake Ricart, Saul (Katy) Sopoci Drake, Monica (Joe) Drake Pierce, Teresa Drake, Heidi (Andy) DeNure, Heather (Al) Helsell, Kristy (Mike) Piotrowski, Ryan (Jenni) Dunkleberger, Harrison Batzler, Halley Batzler, Hillary (Scott) Ketter, Jacob Beck, Emily (Nick) Whitty, Jordan (Paige) Beck, Miranda (Steve) Neuy, Melanie (Jeremy) Wagner, Jill (Colton) Renderman, and Jared Batzler; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Manuel (Dorothy) Batzler and Mary Ann (George) Weninger; in-laws, Leo Mueller, Harold (Kathryn) Mueller, Rose Guell, Bea Mueller, Pat Mueller; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. Donald J. Batzler, 87, of Campbellsport passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 21, 2022, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.He was born on January 16, 1935, in the Town of Wayne, the son of Adolph and Mary (nee Weninger) Batzler. On August 22, 1959, Don married Virginia G. Bingen at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Campbellsport.Don truly loved his faith, wife, large family, his dog, Rover, who was his best buddy, farming with his son, driving his lawn mower and going to the family pond. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, working on repair projects in his shed, all animals, Western movies and his favorite store, Fleet Farm.    Lisa A. Giese, 56, of Mayville, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, at her home in Mayville.   Lisa was born the daughter of Frank and Barbara (Leibenow) Wolc on June 11, 1966.   Lisa graduated from Mayville High School in 1984.   She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville.   Lisa was previously employed at MEC and Kwik Trip.    Lisa cherished and loved her family. She held a special spot in her heart for her six grandchildren and her grandpets. Lisa was very social and enjoyed being outdoors.    Lisa is survived by her parents; her loving children, Ashley (Kevin Lentz) Giese, Michelle (Chris Wenzel) Giese, and Brandon Giese; her beautiful six grandchildren, Rylan, Aleigha, Alana, Landon, Carter, and Mya; her siblings, Tamra Wolc, Kim (Bill) Haraden, and Troy Wolc. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.    Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her brother, Scott.    A memorial service for Lisa will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville with Rev. Dr. Mark Cutler and Rev. Joshua Fraze officiating. Visitation for Lisa will be at the church from 10 to11 a.m. the time of the service. Marjorie Ann Junger


March 27, 1933 -No­vem­ber 23, 2022   Mar­jorie (Er­sk­ine) Junger passed away peace­fully at home on No­vem­ber 23, 2022, at the age of 89.   She was born on March 27, 1933, in Mil­wau­kee, the daugh­ter of Wal­ter and Mar­garet (Ahrens) Er­sk­ine.   She grad­u­ated from Bay View High School and went on to ob­tain her BA in Ed­u­ca­tion from Uni­ver­sity of Wis­con­sin - Mil­wau­kee. She was a mem­ber of Tri-Sigma Soror­ity.    On July 19, 1953, Marge mar­ried Eu­gene (Gene) Junger in Wash­ing­ton DC, where Gene served in the US Coast Guard. They lived a year-long hon­ey­moon, tak­ing in the sights, en­joy­ing mu­si­cal the­aters, and cel­e­brat­ing July 4th with fire­works on the White House Lawn, be­fore mov­ing back to the Mil­wau­kee area.   Marge taught sixth grade in the Mil­wau­kee Pub­lic School sys­tem. Dur­ing this time, their first child was born. The fam­ily moved to Cu­d­ahy, where she later gave birth to three other chil­dren. In 1966, they moved to Wauke­sha where they lived for over 30 years.   Marge was a long-time mem­ber of the Home­mak­ers Club of Singing Hills dur­ing this time. She was a Girl Scout leader at Bant­ing El­e­men­tary and was ac­tive in the PTA.   After her chil­dren began school, Marge was a sub­sti­tute teacher in the Wauke­sha Pub­lic Schools. She later went to work at The Grand at the Brook­field Square Mall and then be­came em­ployed for Kohl’s De­part­ment Stores. She worked at the sec­ond Kohl’s store to open, long be­fore they be­came a na­tional chain, and was a faith­ful em­ployee there for 24 years.    In 1997, Gene and Marge re­tired to Brownsville, where they spent many happy years to­gether. She was an ac­tive mem­ber of Trin­ity Methodist Church of Lomira. Marge en­joyed trav­el­ing, es­pe­cially to Jack­son­port in Door County, where she loved to visit rel­a­tives and rem­i­nisce about her sum­mers up there. She loved to crotchet - di­rect­ing the work to char­i­ta­ble causes, en­joyed craft­ing, and get­ting to­gether with fam­ily. She was an ac­tive com­mu­nity mem­ber of Brownsville for many years. Marge and Gene cel­e­brated their 69th an­niver­sary this past sum­mer.   Marge is sur­vived by her hus­band, Eu­gene; chil­dren, Richard (Pen­nie) Junger, Linda (Ned) Lash­ley, Bar­bara (Christo­pher) Keay, and Thomas (Kath­eryn) Junger; grand­chil­dren, Ben­jamin, Tyler, Emily, Jill, Jacob, An­gela, Trevor, Zachary, Casan­dra, Gre­gory, and Vi­vian; six great-grand­chil­dren; and her brother, Wal­ter (Geor­gianna) Er­sk­ine.   She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents.    In lieu of flow­ers, the fam­ily wishes memo­ri­als be given to Trin­ity Methodist Church of Lomira.    VIS­I­TA­TION: Mar­jorie’s fam­ily will greet rel­a­tives and friends on Sat­ur­day, Dec.10, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Trin­ity United Methodist Church of Lomira, 300 Church Street, Lomira, WI, 53048.   MEMO­R­IAL SER­VICE: A Memo­r­ial Ser­vice for Mar­jorie will take place at 1 p.m. at Trin­ity United Methodist Church of Lomira, with Rev­erend Mu­longo Mpoyo of­fi­ci­at­ing. Evelyn Lorraine Krug


   Eve­lyn Lor­raine Krug (nee Ehrhardt), 87, passed away peace­fully on No­vem­ber 22, 2022.   Eve­lyn was born on July 13, 1935, in the Town of Lomira to Mau­rice and Lav­ila Ehrhardt.   She was united in mar­riage to Don­ald Krug on Au­gust 16, 1958, at Emanuel Church, and to­gether they raised two chil­dren. Don­ald passed away on Feb­ru­ary 12, 1992.   Eve­lyn grad­u­ated from Lomira High School in 1953. She at­tended Dodge County Nor­mal School and earned a de­gree in ed­u­ca­tion. She started her ca­reer teach­ing in a one-room school­house be­fore tak­ing a break from ed­u­ca­tion to be a farmwife. Later, she spent 18 years as a para­pro­fes­sional (teacher’s aide) in the Lomira School Dis­trict.   Eve­lyn had a strong faith and was a long­time and in­volved mem­ber of Trin­ity United Methodist Church in Lomira. She was a tal­ented mu­si­cian, in­clud­ing singing alto for many years with the church choir and ear­lier in a trio with three Ehrhardt Sis­ters. She also played the sax­o­phone and ac­cor­dion. Eve­lyn had a pas­sion for pho­tog­ra­phy and travel, and she loved to com­bine the two. She en­joyed de­vot­ing time to local youth, and she was a 4-H leader of the Lomira Clover Leaves Club for nearly 50 years.   Eve­lyn loved her fam­ily dearly, and those she leaves be­hind to cher­ish her mem­ory in­clude her two chil­dren, Lori (Tim) Colleran and Steve Krug; four grand­chil­dren, Kel­lie (Bill) Jacob, Daniel Krug, Anna Krug, and Emilee (Jeff) Simon; six great-grand­chil­dren, Aiden Krug, Brady Jacob, Gra­ham Hocher, Allie Jacob, Brynn Jacob, and Ada­line Simon; sis­ters, Lois Hartwig and Lynette (George) Sher­man and brother, Robert (Janet) Ehrhardt. Dennis Lee Vetter


Dennis Lee Vetter, 78, of Iron River, WI passed away Friday, November 18, 2022 from Stage 4 cancer. Dennis was born October 7, 1944 in Plymouth, WI, the son of Leland and Vivian (Staege) Vetter. He is a graduate of Kewaskum High School. On August 17, 1968 he married Jeanette Von Ende. Together they raised 2 children, Lea and Eric. Dennis received his Bachelor’s degree from UW-Whitewater and his Master’s and Educational Specialist degrees from UW-Superior. Dennis was employed as a teacher and cross country/track & field coach at New Richmond, Mayville, & Fond du Lac and administrator at Oshkosh, Phillips, & Ashland School Districts. For over 2 decades, Dennis and Jeanette owned and operated Anderson’s Chequamegon Motel in Ashland, Evergreen Acres Farm and Campground in Benoit, and Shady Oaks Tourist Homes on Iron Lake in Iron River. After retirement, Dennis and Jeanette moved to Iron River. Dennis enjoyed running marathons and cross-country skiing. He completed 22 American Birkebeiner cross-country ski races in Hayward. In 1982, Dennis became the 53rd citizen skier in the world to complete the “World Loppet” series of cross-country ski races in North America and Europe. Together with his son Eric, Dennis raised purebred Simmental beef cattle and showed at the Ashland and Bayfield County Fairs and Wisconsin State Fair. Dennis was a great supporter of Lea and Eric in their participation in sports, music, 4-H, and academia throughout high school and college. Dennis is survived by his wife Jeanette; daughter Lea (Steve) DeCramer of Joliet, IL; son Eric (Carmen) Vetter of Urbana, IL; granddaughter Emma DeCramer; sisters Gloria (Joseph) Boden of Black River Falls; Gelane (Carl) Firme of Sun Prairie; Diane Jaeger of Campbellsport; Jeaneen (John) Kudek, Elaine (Frank) Poos, brother Dale Vetter, sister-in-law Carol Vetter all of Kewaskum; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerry Vetter, brother-in-law Jack Jaeger, and nephew Joey Boden. A private service will be held at a later date.
