Leona May Dins, age 73, of Tempe, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.Leona was born in Fond du Lac on September 20, 1949. She graduated from Campbellsport High School. She married her loving husband, Kenneth, on July 3, 1977, in Campbellsport.She worked in Food Service for Mesa General Hospital and Brookdale Senior Living - Horizon Bay.Leona is survived by her husband, Kenneth Dins; her children, Scott Ludwig and spouse Heather, Shelly Ludwig, and Crystal Dins; her grandchildren, Danielle Ortega, Isaiac Graham, Quentin Lewis, and Willen Ludwig; one great-grandchild, Lorenzo Diaz; and her siblings, David Muellenbach, Helen Wittkop, Robert Muellenbach and Steven Muellenbach.Leona is preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Ludwig, who passed in 1973; her father, Leo Muellenbach; her mother, Fern (Olson) Muellenbach; and her mother and father-in-law, Carl and Beatrice Dins.There was a memorial service held for Leona at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 715 W. James J. Haug


James J. Haug passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the age of 82 years. He was born June 21, 1940, in the Town of Auburn to the late John “Jack” and Lorinda “Lindy” (nee Mathieu). Jim grew up in rural Campbellsport on a farm and when he was in high school, he worked part time at Warty Industry. Following his graduation from Campbellsport High School with the Class of 1959, he enlisted into the United States Army, serving in Germany. He returned home in March of 1962.In 1963, he was united in marriage to Judy Fischer. Together, they had one son, and later moved to West Bend.For more than 25 years, he worked for Haug and Sons Roofing. He then went on to share his knowledge and talents with Christiansen Roofing for 32 years. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing on their property in Adams, WI and going to Montana to hunt and visit with friends.Survivors include his wife, Judy; their grandson, Jacob (Abby); and step-grandson, Brandon (Tamarra) Terrien; three lovely great-grandchildren, Talia, Jack and Helena Haug; two brothers, Joe (Sharon) of Arizona and John of Wisconsin; one brother-in-law, Bill (Rose Mary) Fischer of Wisconsin; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dan; step-grandson, Michael Terrien; and his parents-in-law, Gus and Gerty Fischer.Private services will be held at a later date. LaVerne Lyle Immel


LaVerne Lyle Immel, 87, of the Town of Osceola, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Villa Loretto in Mt. Calvary. He was born on September 1, 1935, a son of the late Marvin and Mabel Immel (nee Meinke). On August 3, 1957, he married Ruth Krewald at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee. LaVerne worked at Regal Ware and, in 1972, established Lakeview Electric Contractors. He served on the Trinity Lutheran Church council, the Dundee Mill Park committee, and was chairman of the Town of Osceola. LaVerne also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and driving his UTV.He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Daniel (Diane), Cynthia Braun (Daniel Trapp), Steven (Debbie); and grandchildren, Eric (Steph) Immel, Cody (Mindy) Immel, Amanda (Cory) Meyer, Stephanie (Daniel) Geisthardt, Kerry (Jim) Garcia; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings, Dorothy Meyer, Beverly (Donald) Backhaus, LeRoy (Patsy) Immel, Evelyn (Kenneth) Koepke, Stanley (Susan) Immel, Richard (Theresa) Immel, Betty (Gerald) Gitter and Rosemary Carey; many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jeanette, Marvin Jr., Jarold (Roberta) and Judith (Carl) Kollmansberger; and brothers-in-law, Richard Carey III and Robert Meyer.Visitation was from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee (W494 Elm St., Campbellsport).    Glenn A. Haddy, 83, of Mayville passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.   Glenn was born the son of Arthur and Marie (Titel) Haddy on October 6, 1939.   He was united in marriage to Carol Feucht on June 15, 1963, in LeRoy.   Glenn spent his life farming on the family farm in the Township of Theresa.   Racing was Glenn’s passion; he was involved in many aspects of racing with multiple different teams/drivers for 63 years. In his spare time, Glenn loved to socialize with friends and enjoyed playing sheepshead and shooting trap.   He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville.   Glenn is survived by his children, Tim (Sarah) Haddy of Waupun and Jenni Haddy of North Fond du Lac; his grandchildren, Jordyn (fiance’ Coltin Eddy) Haddy, Rebecca Haddy, TJ Haddy, Kaitlyn Haddy, Anthony Haddy, Tyler Haddy, and Zachary Haddy; his special friend, Judy Fassbender of Theresa; further survived by niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; and his only sister.   A funeral service for Glenn will be held on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville with Rev. Traci Maass officiating. A visitation for Glenn was held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville and again on Thursday, Dec. 22, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Petri Cemetery in the Township of Theresa.    Ermanelda Dora Franke, 82, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2022.   Erma was born on July 4, 1940, at home in LeRoy, to Reuben and Vida (Indermuehle) Sperger.    Erma was united in marriage to Donald Franke, on April 30, 1960, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, LeRoy.   Erma and Don bought the family farm they lived on all their life in April of 1960. They worked together on the farm milking cows, planting and harvesting crops, working together doing assessing work, and welcoming goose hunters for many years.    In 1973 Erma was appointed deputy assessor and worked with her father who was the assessor.   In December of 1976, she was appointed by the Town of LeRoy as their full-time assessor. She held this position for 40 years. She also was the assessor for the Towns of Ashippun, Lomira, Williamstown, Villages of Kekoskee, Brownsville and then Town of Wayne in Washington County. She was also the Clerk/Assessor for 20 years for Town of LeRoy and retired in 2016. Erma was the Treasurer for the Dodge County Farm Bureau and past President of the LeRoy/Lomira Farm Bureau. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy and sang in the St. Andrew's Choir for many years.   She is survived by her son, Scott (Laura) Franke; daughters, Mary (Jerry) Cooper and Kay Franke; grandchildren, Ashley (Andy) Vande Zande, Emily (Ryan) Vander Grinten, Ryley and Madison Cooper, Samson, Mike (Gina) Zuehlke, and Joe Zuehlke; great-grandchildren, Alexa and Axel Vande Zande, Collin, Deszion, and Linden Zuehlke; sisters, Henrietta Gremminger, Romona (Bernard) Werner, Ruby (Richard) Stommel; brothers-in-law, Eugene Hanke and Arnold Walters.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son Myron; daughter, Cynthia; parents, Rueben and Vida Sperger; in-laws, Alphonse and Erna Franke; brothers, Donald and Courtland Sperger; brother-in-law, Ray Gremminger; sisters-in-law, Shirley Sperger, Cathy Walters, Berniece Hanke, and Romona Sperger.   A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 12 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 9 a.m. until the start of the service at 12 p.m. at the church. Family Entombment took place at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac.   Memorials may be directed to the Waupun Dialysis Center or the Knowles Fire Department.    Special thank you to the Waupun Dialysis Center, St. Agnes Hospital, Edenbrook Rehabilitation Center, St. Croix Hospice Care, and all of the wonderful neighbors and friends of mom who have given her such great care and love over these past few months.    Car­olyn A. Smith, a re­tired For­eign Ser­vice Of­fi­cer, of Wau­paca, passed away at the age of 71 on Wednes­day, Dec. 14, 2022, of can­cer.   Car­olyn was born on Feb­ru­ary 9, 1951; daugh­ter of the late Thomas and Eu­nice (Just­man) Smith. She lived in north­east­ern Wis­con­sin.   Car­olyn joined the De­part­ment of State in 1975 and later, the US In­for­ma­tion Agency. Car­olyn served in Ecuador, Tan­za­nia, Turkey, Venezuela, Sri Lanka, Bul­garia, Mex­ico, Rus­sia, Ger­many, Afghanistan, and Wash­ing­ton DC. She loved to read and travel and en­joyed vol­un­teer ac­tiv­i­ties in re­tire­ment. She was an ar­dent fan of Wis­con­sin sport teams.   Car­olyn had a very spe­cial re­la­tion­ship with all of her nieces and nephews and loved spend­ing time with them. She had a deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and her faith brought her through her final trial.   Car­olyn is sur­vived by her sis­ter, Laura (Ker­mit) Mold­en­hauer of Wau­paca; brother, Alan (Dana) Smith of Fre­mont; also many nieces, nephews, other rel­a­tives and friends.   Fu­neral Ser­vice was held at 11 a.m. on Tues­day, Dec. 20, at Im­manuel Evan­gel­i­cal Lutheran Church in Wau­paca. Ronald E. Meyer


   Ronald E. Meyer, 79, unexpectedly died at his home in Lomira, on December 13, 2022, and went to his forever heavenly home with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.    Ronald (Ron) E. Meyer was born on May 20, 1943, in Chicago, IL, to Matthew and Augusta (Walters) Meyer.   On May 1, 1981, he was united in marriage to the love of his life Annette Pribnow Neitzel at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Lomira. With this marriage, he also gained a son, Brian, that he loved as his own. Their family grew with the birth of their daughter, Amy, and he was the proudest father.    Ron retired from Mayville Engineering Company (MEC), where he was employed for 30 years.    Through the years, he enjoyed traveling and a cruise with Annette, endless nights of bowling and tournaments and had a love for cooking. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, especially the Packers, Brewers and Badgers, and never missed a Nascar race. But his absolute pride and joy in life were his two youngest grandchildren that made his smile even bigger the last few years. His days were brighter when cooking or playing games with Makena, who he called princess or his little pumpkin and when racing cars or playing catch with Dawson, who he called Buddy and who will always be Grandpa’s little boy.   Ron will be dearly missed by his wife, Annette; children, Brian (Danielle) and Amy (Heidi); five grandchildren, Brock, Dustin, Caitlin, Makena and Dawson; siblings, Matthew (Sally) Meyer, Mary Collins, Anita Odekirk and William (Mary) Meyer; father-in-law, Reuben Pribnow; brothers-in-law, Ronald Pribnow, Rodney (Dee) Pribnow, Ralph (Donna) Pribnow, Randall (Anita) Pribnow; sisters-in-law, Audrey (Randy) Greene, Arlette (Marv) Lindert, and Arlesse (Dave) Groth; additionally many nieces, nephews and friends.    He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Augusta Meyer; and mother-in-law, Arlene Pribnow.   Funeral services for Ron Meyer were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Lomira with Rev. Matthew Kuske officiating on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m. A visitation was held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.   Robert (Bob) D Kopping passed away on December 10, 2022, at home after a battle with cancer.  He was born November 1, 1949, in Milwaukee to DeWayne and Carol Kopping. On May 16, 1969, Bob married Sandra Lob and together they had four children. Survivors include his wife, Sandy; four children, Todd (Cheryl) Kopping of West Bend, Carrie (Don) Staehler of Campbellsport, Scott Kopping of Campbellsport and Torri (Jason) Seiser of Cascade; seven grandchildren and six great-children.   There will be a private service for family.   Thank you to Aurora Hospice for all the care provided during this difficult time.

   San­dra Lee Kuhlman passed away peace­fully at home on Mon­day, Dec. 5, 2022.   Sandy was born to Roy and Thirza (Tillema) Kuhlman on April 18, 1961, in Waupun.   She grad­u­ated from Hori­con High School in 1979 and shortly after started work­ing at ER Wag­ner in Hus­tis­ford. She re­tired from Wag­n­ers in 2009.   Sandy spent her re­tire­ment as an Avon rep­re­sen­ta­tive and help­ing out the fam­ily on the Kuhlman farm. She loved spend­ing time with her fam­ily, es­pe­cially her niece, nephew, and grand-nephews.    Sandy was ded­i­cated to her church and church fam­ily at Juneau United Methodist Church, act­ing as trea­surer and shar­ing her bak­ing and craft­ing tal­ents for their many gath­er­ings and bake sales. She loved mak­ing her own greet­ing cards, and all of her ex­tended fam­ily and friends were the lucky re­cip­i­ents. She also car­ried on the fam­ily tra­di­tion from her par­ents and was ac­tive with the Dodge County Dairy Pro­mo­tion Com­mit­tee.   Sandy is sur­vived by her sib­lings, Laura (Bryan) Schmude of Hori­con, Linda Kuhlman of Evans­ville, Mark (Stephanie) Kuhlman of Hori­con, and Amy Kuhlman of Hori­con; nephew, Za­ck­ery (Dana) Schmude; niece, Ste­fanie Schmude; great-nephews, Mason and Liam Schmude; and many beloved aunts, un­cles, and cousins.     She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents.   A memo­r­ial ser­vice for Sandy was held on Mon­day, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m. at Em­manuel United Methodist Church in Hori­con, with Rev. Renae Dy­mond of­fi­ci­at­ing. Vis­i­ta­tion for San­dra was from 10 a.m. until the time of ser­vice at 11 a.m. at church.    Mary Ann A. Gehring (nee Schae­fer), 77, of Hart­ford, passed away peace­fully De­cem­ber 8, 2022, at Angel’s Grace Hos­pice, Oconomowoc, after a brave 15-month bat­tle with brain can­cer.   Mary Ann was born on June 10, 1945, in Hart­ford to Lu­cille Schae­fer (nee Beine) and Nor­man Schae­fer.   She was united in mar­riage to Den­nis J. Gehring on Au­gust 14, 1965, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nenno and was a long­time mem­ber of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.   Mary Ann is sur­vived by Den­nis, her lov­ing hus­band of 57 years; and five chil­dren, LeRoy (Anne) Gehring and their chil­dren, Jacob (Molly) Gehring and Thomas (Bobbi) Gehring of Hart­ford, John (Kristin) Gehring and their chil­dren, Han­nah (Kyle) Berlin, Kayla Gehring of Orono, MN, Eu­gene (Chris­tine) Gehring and their chil­dren, Derik, Jor­dan, and Emily Gehring of Hart­ford, Al (Angie) Gehring and their chil­dren, Raechel and Nathan Gehring of Hart­ford, and Sue (Scott) Mudra and their chil­dren, Made­line and Saman­tha Mudra of Hart­ford; great-grand­chil­dren, Kim­berly and Mag­gie Gehring. She is also sur­vived by her three sis­ters and brother, Rita (Daniel) Fel­lenz, Bev­erly Brath, Nor­bert Sonny Schae­fer (spe­cial friend Lynda Di­ener), and Dar­lene Becker; and her sib­lings-in-law, Eileen (Ruben) Gun­drum, Mary (Ken) Gehring; and many nieces and nephews.   She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents, Nor­man Schae­fer and Lu­cille Schae­fer; her hus­band’s par­ents, John and Celia Gehring and their in­fant daugh­ter, Emily Gehring; and brother-in-law and sis­ter-in-law, Ger­ald and Mary Ann Gehring.   Mary Ann and Den­nis both at­tended Hart­ford High School and met at a polka dance at Le­gion Hall in Theresa, after which they be­came high school sweet­hearts. They dated for three years, and their dates con­sisted of going to dances, often three times per week and to her fa­vorite live music, the Bernie Roberts Band.   After mar­riage, Mary Ann and Den­nis worked side by side on the fam­ily dairy farm for 21 years. Mary Ann bal­anced doing the book­keep­ing for the busi­ness, rais­ing five chil­dren and keep­ing the house­hold spot­less. She loved tend­ing to her flow­ers and can­ning. Mary Ann also qui­etly and self­lessly vis­ited, helped, and cared for ex­tended fam­ily and friends. Often with her young chil­dren in tow, she pro­vided lessons in help­ing oth­ers in need.   After pass­ing the re­spon­si­bil­ity of farm to the next gen­er­a­tion, Mary Ann and Den­nis trav­eled ex­ten­sively to Eu­rope, Hawaii and Mex­ico, and to polka fes­ti­vals in Michi­gan, Ohio, Min­nesota and South Dakota. Mary Ann helped to arrange trans­porta­tion for 44 bus­loads of polka fans to some of these fes­ti­vals, en­list­ing the help of her grand­chil­dren to bake and pack­age home­made cook­ies and treats for each bus. She made travel easy for peo­ple who would oth­er­wise have been un­able to travel by them­selves, and Mary Ann turned many of them into friends across the Mid­west, in­clud­ing one cou­ple who met on a trip and got mar­ried. In re­cent years, Mary Ann en­joyed es­cap­ing the Mid­west cold – spend­ing win­ters in Mesa, Ari­zona.   Mary Ann took great plea­sure in car­ing for her grand­chil­dren and watch­ing them grow up to­gether. They made cook­ies, played cards, baked, and canned. The grand­chil­dren will al­ways re­mem­ber mak­ing enough Christ­mas cook­ies to cover the en­tire fam­ily-sized din­ing table, with Grandma di­rect­ing all of the ac­tiv­ity.   A Mass of Chris­t­ian Bur­ial for Mary Ann will be held Sat­ur­day, Dec. 17, at 12 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4886 State Road 175, St. Lawrence (Hart­ford), WI 53027, with Rev.
