Marilyn Leona Keller, 79, of Hartford, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
A Memorial Service for Marilyn will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, at 5 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville with Rev. Dr. Mark G. Cutler officiating. A visitation for Marilyn will take place on Friday, Nov. 8, from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m.
Marilyn was born on September 5, 1945, to Norbert and Florence (Ehlers) Hoepner in Neosho.
She was a graduate of Hartford High School.
On June 12, 1965, as she was always up for a challenge, Marilyn was united in marriage to Michael Keller at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. They spent over 59 wonderful years together.
Marilyn had a very loving childhood growing up, which in return she then gave to her own children and grandchildren. She was never afraid to try anything new and she maintained curiosity about the world around her. She loved an adventure whether it could be found in the pages of a good book, in her travels to California and Alaska, panning for gold or in the daily adventure of taking care of her family. She also had a real lucky streak and had many winning days. If you went to visit her, you were always welcome, her door was always open and the cookie jar full.
She had a love for animals. She loved all her family farm animals. Especially horses. She loved nature and enjoyed being outside whenever possible.
Marilyn held many jobs and fulfilled many roles in her life including helping to run the family business, Keller’s Farm Supply. As a wife, mother and grandmother, Marilyn was a central and enduring figure to her family.
Marilyn had strong beliefs, and she fought for them. She never backed down from something she believed in. She was the number one supporter to everyone in her family. She was always encouraging and seemed to have an answer to any problem you came to her with. She was honest, caring and patient. She was the toughest five-foot woman you could ever meet. We will miss her caring heart, her love for her family and her spitfire attitude.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Michael; her children, Wade (Paula) Keller, David Keller, and Clay (Kristi) Keller; her grandchildren, Amber (Ryan) Krieser, Mitchell Keller, and Taylor Keller; her great-grandson, Gavin Wurst; and her siblings, Marlene Pamperin, Jack (Bev) Hoepner, and Jim (Brenda) Hoepner. Marilyn is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Bernice Hoepner, Lucy Hoepner, and Ken Hoepner.
