Eric Jay Schladweiler, 57, of Kewaskum, was called home to be with the Lord on October 12, 2024, at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa, following a very courageous battle with cancer.
Eric was born on May 13, 1967, in West Bend to the late LeRoy and Gertrude (nee Schmidt) Schladweiler of Kewaskum.
Eric graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1985.
His life was filled with keeping busy. He helped on the family farm most of his life, also helping his brothers with their farm work – which he loved to do. At the same time as he was helping with farm work, he also worked at several different businesses including Bolen’s Inc. in Port Washington, TP Concrete in Fredonia, and most recently TNT Enterprises in Random Lake.
Eric was passionate about his gardening skills, which included growing organic sweet corn, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, squash, cauliflower, cabbage, watermelon, and other vegetables. He enjoyed watching the Packers football team, going to car races, collecting and restoring antique tractors, making wood for his wood stove, and simply being outdoors.
Those Eric leaves behind to cherish his memory include his siblings; Gary (Doris) Schladweiler of Kewaskum, Susan (Steven) Cotter of Waldo, Judy (Greg) Melius of Batavia, Liz (Steve) Weyker of Fredonia, Jeff (Teresa) Schladweiler of Kewaskum, and Jane (Brian) Ries of Lomira; is furthered survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Eric was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jacob and Elizabeth (nee Schneider) Schladweiler; maternal grandparents, Henry and Clementine (nee Albinger) Schmidt.
VISITATION: Eric’s family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., at St. Michael Catholic Church, 8883 Forest View Road, Kewaskum, WI.
SERVICE: Mass of Christian Burial in remembrance of Eric will follow visitation at 11 a.m. with Father Patrick Magnor officiating the service.
BURIAL: Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery located to the south of the church.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Aurora Zilber Family Hospice for their care and compassion.
