Janice L. Hartmann
Janice Lucille Hartmann, age 73, of Batavia, WI passed away peacefully at Rocky Knoll Nursing Home with her family at her side on July 4, 2020.
Janice was born July 20, 1946, to Lucille (Oberg) and the late Joseph Koschak. She graduated from Random Lake High School in 1964, and graduated from UWM with a degree in Elementary Education in 1968. On October 28, 1967, she married Bob Hartmann. Janice and Bob were the first couple to be married at Zion Methodist Church in Batavia, WI.
Janice taught elementary school at Kewaskum School District for 26 years between Farmington, Beechwood, and Wayne Schools.
Janice was a member of Scott Scooters 4-H Club where she participated in sewing, cooking, and gardening. She was also the State Fair winner in her prized wool suit. She was a member of ZUMC where she was active in UWM, a VBS kitchen helper, choir member, and served on many committees. Janice enjoyed luncheons with the Red Hat Society and teacher groups. She proudly served as a charter member of the Beechwood Fire Department Auxiliary. Janice enjoyed hanging out with her and Bob’s fire department friends, gardening, and going up north to the cabin near Crivitz with family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 53 years, Bob; son, Paul (Angie) Hartmann of Silver Creek; daughter Jill (Nick) Mueller of Batavia; grandchildren, Tyler Kies of Ft. Benning, GA, Owen Kies and Everett Mueller of Batavia, and Maddy and Brad Hartmann of Silver Creek; mother, Lucille Koschak of West Bend; brother, Steve (Pat) Koschak of Batavia; and sister, Susan (Doug) Smith of Scottsdale, AZ; she is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Koschak; and In-laws, Wallace and Mildred Hartmann.
There will be a celebration of life for Janice on Friday, July 10, with a visitation from 4-6 p.m. at Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth, WI. Janice will be buried at Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Batavia.
